I have met friends on the internet, but just friends, wouldn't form a personal relationship with someone.

wtf?

what the hell was that about?

i just said what is so good about having a relationship on the net if they dont work out!

entirley relevant to the subject topic.

personally id recommend people to steer clear of them, as knowing the person over the net and physically in person are two different things

Wouldn't have a bar of one.

I have a few issues with even meeting people of the Internet; I do not do it.

Probably think this way (off Bigfooty) because everyone wants to kill me (i.e. Hitman).

If you want a relationship do it in the normal way, or if you are struggling go to twister and pick up some sluts.

There was another case of a bad internet relationship in Perth last week, woman met this guy from Melbourne, he came over & stayed with her, then she had to go to hospital for a couple of days & when she went back home he had stolen her TV, video etc & her car.

My mum was involved in one for about 1 1/2 - 2 years. He moved here at Christmas time and is from Canada. He asked her to marry her not long ago and the wedding is in 2 weeks.

PowerGirl36,

That is great to hear of one working out so well. :):)

I am a believer that the internet is a way of meeting people, and would consider a relationship that developed as a result of meeting via the net.

What's the difference between meeting on the net as opposed to say a bar?? You're not going to marry someone straight away but I see no harm as long as you are CAREFUL.

Sometimes what they take though is more than material things. You can think you know someone, it's easy to believe what they say is true. But it's so dangerous.

I think I'm generally pretty cluey at reading people when I meet them. But on the internet it's impossible.

I learnt the hard way.................:(

MrBoy,

I doubt that is the case and all I'm saying is meeting people on the net is ok... what happens after you meet is anyone's guess.

I have had bad experiences as well, but I'm still on the market so to speak, and although I will learn from what I did, I am not ruling anything out. I just go with my heart. :)

Things aren't working out that well between myself and him but I'm sure it will all work out ok in the end.
There is a difference because you're typing words and not speaking and people can be a lot different to what you thought. I'd say that knowing the person for a long time and trusting them is the way to go.

Personally i think they're a little sad.
Why don't people meet other people the normal way? If you're that desperate for a relationship just go out more or something! Don't waste your time in front of a computer! Go out!
