Johnny Rotten doesn't like being interrupted :)

The interview sailed through a series of routine questions about his tour, performing on stage and writing music but things went off the rails when one of The Project's panellists, Carrie Bickmore, turned the conversation to the death of former British prime minister Margaret Thatcher.

Lydon became agitated, not because of the question, but because he felt she had interrupted him.

"Hey, hey, hey Mrs," he said. "Shut up. Whoever you are, shut up. Shut up. Shut up. Now listen, when a man is talking do not interrupt."

It's almost as bad as cheapness in the "How to get along with others" rule book.

Normally goes along these lines

1. Sheer desperation to get their point across. If at first they don't succeed there will be multiple attempts

2. Point made in great detail and often followed by many other irrelevant points and personal anecdotes

3. Satisfied look on their face as they bask in the glory of the point, only paying attention where a direct question about their point is asked.

4. Repeat

They know its frustrating to others but this drive to be heard must be overwhelming.

I actually avoid hanging out with large groups because I hate being interrupted. There is always at least one person that just won't let anyone finish. I will on occasion through in a quick thought, mainly because I have a poor memory and need to get it out before I forget. I always apologise for the interruption and repeat back what the other person was saying to show them I was listening.

maybe not specifically interrupting, but partially related.

how about those who enter a conversation by talking about themselves/subject that has nothing to do with the current topic at hand? usually starts with
I/me
am getting/doing/seeing
object
looks at your with an eager anticipatory stare of "please acknowledge what i said!!!"

2GB 873am up here

Chris Smith and Ben Fordham are DISGUSTINGLY bad with interrupting people.
No surprise considering the shit the whole station spouts.

I probably do this quite a bit, however i do wait for a pause, issue is a lot of people take an extended pause as if finished or leaving an opening then freaking start talking again just as you go to talk.

Then again the majority of social conventions shit me to tears, honestly as long as it's a question or a proper rebuttal i like being interrupted, means they're usually interested and quite often leads to a good debate or discussion. I hate talking to someone who doesn't respond at all more than someone who interrupts.
