Has anyone out there had any troubles with the loudspeaker on the 3G?

Mine has started to becoming very "broken sounding", much like when you are in a call and the other end has poor reception... The fuzzy, clrackling sound.
All sounds have been affected, some worse than others, for example my ringtone isnt as loud and sounds shocking, but simple noises like to sleep, unlock etc all sound similar to what they used to.

I was running the Developer 3.0 firmware and it ran fine for a few days until this issue. So i "upgraded" to the official 3.0 release but still same problem.
The phone has not been dropped or damaged (that i know of).

I'm hoping there is a way to fix this without getting it taken into a shop as Ive just had knee surgery and its bit hard for me to get to one.

The only thing that i can think of is that i used the phone as an iPod a few days ago and had the speaker up to almost full volume. But straight after this it was working fine?

Any help would be great.

The speaker on these phones is pretty week but the volume can be pumped up pretty loud. I don't think you would have to play music for very long at a high volume to do some serious damage. Very unlikely that it would be a software problem.

Once your knee is alright I would probably head back into the store and see what your options are. Did you get the extra insurance option?
