Melbourne showed today that a resting Ruckman in the forward line provides for more variety and balance. And when a change is made we wouldn't lose so much in the mid-field (Miller anyone?) Should we consider having both Gus and Brownie in the side?

No way carnt afford to hav em both in ONE AT A TIME PLEASE sometimes i think we would b better with none.

Yes it is time for two rucks, but not the two we have unfortunately. Graham and Browne battle hard but they simply aren't up to it. They don't take enough marks around the ground, aren't dangerous if they go forward and don't shove it down the midfielders' throats (admittedly not that many do anyway). It's an issue. Do we try to trade for a ruckman now or when we're better, possibly next year or the year after - and that's assuming we are better in the next couple of years.

I'm confused as to why Vickery got next to no ruck time. Sure, he was your most dangerous forward, but doing the centre bounces and then running forward surely couldn't have been too difficult to orchastrate. Miller tries hard with everything he does but obviously isn't a ruckman. I think you won the clearances though so things weren't too bad.

We need 2. Vickery can't do it as he was the only option in the forward 50, as Riewoldt was clearly beaten by Frawley. Vickery is quick but he ain't that quick to go from the centre bounce to the forward 50. You've also got to look at stoppages and wether they get the ball first.
Graham can kick goals, and I think he has learnt his lesson now...

This is where a player LIKE Trengove could be handy. With Vickers comming on nicely a ruck/forward to rotate with would be perfect. Cant have Gus and Browne on the same field together, waste of a spot on the bench.

We arn't contenders this year so im happy to leave things the way they are let Miller, Post, vickers and who ever else Dimma thinks can create a contest.

Well I am of the opinion Miller performances over the last 4 week block are far from good enough and should see his omission this week. Obviously Post has put his hand up and I believe offers more than Miller.

In addition we have Griffiths who I feel should come in now and that he will play better at afl level than vfl.

Longer term , if he develops, Post should be able to pinch hit ruck as well

Browne and Gus would be a liability in the same team. Neither can dominate in the air and when the pill hits the deck it would slow us up to much. Post would be a better back up ruck but is ordinary around the ground.

Post shouldn't be ordinary around the ground, when is he going to develop his leg power. Maybe he doesn't have the desire to apply hard enough!!

Thats how i see it. He has the skill but plays lazy. I would love him to get physical and crash a few packs like big Vick has started doing, he is big enough.

If we had a decent ruck then yes......so the answer is a big no.
