Hey people as some of you know Microsoft have realeased the new versions of the Xbox360 which has less chance of Red ring of Death, my question though is has anyone had the Red ring of death with the "New" Xbox 360's? and how can you tell if an xbox is the new or old version when your like at the shops, or on ebay etc?

There have been reports of the newer ones copping the RROD, but far less than the earlier consoles.

You can check the build date on the console and I believe the newer ones have 175 listed on the front instead of the previous 225

Just google it perhaps? Or check out the xbox forums and ask the question, someone will be in the know there

I believe the new Arcade ones are the brand spankers though with HDMI (the Elite also)

Hi, i just got my brand new xbox360 of ebay, but i jsut want to know is mine the new falcon ones. on the back of it on the white slip it sais 203w which in research that "could" be a falcon, and its manufacured date is 2008-1-18, so there is mine a falcon?

I'm not sure, I think the falcons MAY be 175w though

Sorry for double post. Check the power supply when you get it. If the power supply says 175w then it's a Falcon.

If it's 203w on the power supply, it's not a falcon

The falcon chipset runs at 65nm, a lot less power than the original. This means that there is less heat / noise produced by the console (in theory), which leads to less chance of the dreaded 3RROD which has plauged the console - again, in theory.
