Is naming my son Judd waaay too bogan?

Still undecided on what to name my son, who's due in January. The missus suggested Judd after Funny People director Judd Apatow, and I like the name too. But then I always cringe when people name their kids after footy stars.

I guess when he's playing CHF for Carlton if could work in his favour...
 
My cat was named Kouta as a bit of a joke and I kinda regret it but he's stuck with it now.

As long as you'd be happy calling him Juddy and barracking for Juddy at the same why not :) As you say Judd Apatow has made it a bit easier

DONT DO IT.

Dont get me wrong no one loves the Judd man more than me but Trust me, my name is/was a bit different way back when I was a kid growing up and I got the shit teased out of me. Very unpleasent.

Crazy idea to call your pet kouta.

Though it's still better than calling your cat Ratts.

I believe Thrawn named one of his rat's Elliott. :D

It was kinda funny until I had to call his name out for him to come inside. Then it was just embarrassing. As was signing him up at the vet.
Tried to change it to Scooter but it never really stuck. Them's the breaks!
 
When naming a child always think of potential nicknames and how much that will suck for him/her in primary school.

Judd to a school smart arse is Dudd. If it catches on, your little boy will be in tears every lunch time :(

Don't do it.
 
I named one of my dogs Murphy but then it is quite a common dog name.

I worked with a guy named Judd a few years back and he was always getting questioned about it.

kids are generally turds and will find anyway to tease them if need be, it's part of growing up, pick a name you're happy with and you think a child wouldn't hate. something unique is fine.
