To share the title as the 2 emerging super powers of the competition both on and off the field.

Bring on the top 4 battles and the 60 000+ crowds at the "g" we are both capable of against each other.

Lets face it, our great clubs are used to winning, unlike teams like the St. Kilda who arent.

Perhaps Im getting ahead of myself but hay we are clubs who have success starved supporters who are used to winning.

10-15 years for both of these clubs is to long for these 2 proud clubs

I'm enjoying the fact that the two bottom teams from last year have had such a great start. Hawthorn beat the Lions and we beat both of last years grand finalists. The changes in coaching has also improved both teams. Rapt with Wallace and admire the way that Clarkson has gone about things for the Hawks.

your not wrong hawk, and good win to your mob , you guys are dead stiff to not have another couple of wins which would place you in better position nevertheless the direction your now heading is very clear...

Luckily Richmond have won 3 close games. We could have been 4-5 if we dropped the games vs Hawks, Dogs, Lions.

Hawks could have won the Blues, Tigers game, could have been 5-4 or even more.

Luckily for us, we have had some match winners, such as Brown and Richardson. Probably the main difference between both lists at the moment.

Hopefully the St Kilda/Geelong comparison does hold true.

What have they achieved????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? Please dont compare us with them. The ONLY thing they have achieved is media build up.

Next year this two clubs will be the St Kilda and Geelong of 2004, two teams with good young lists.

Don't think so........
2-4 years before both Richmond and Hawthorn reach their potential.
When at full strength Geelong, St. Kilda and West Coast are at another level to the rest of the comp and probably will be for another 18 months.
Tigers and Hawks are headed in the right direction unlike.. Collingwood, Brisbane, Essendon.
Fremantle are underachieving. Port have lost some good players that they're finding hard to cover. Carlton have an ordinary list but a great coach. Kangas still have to develop.

Just because we have improved this year doesn't mean we will automatically improve year after year. Refer to years 1995 and 2001.
We are 7-2 now. Looking at a finals spot and you guys are more interested in 2-4 years. In 2-4 years we will loose the Best forward in the Comp and the Best full back in the comp.
We have a small window of oppurtunity THIS year. So forget about the future at the moment and give the other teams heaps. :D

All smalls

No richo no stafford no Gasper no Kellaway no spine. I'm sure the club realise this and will make a play for some talls.

What have they acheived? Knocking off Freo at subi, brisbane down here and Melbourne. These were not wins by small margins either.

Yes, we are better at the moment, but theres other teams we should be giving ******** too, instead of Hawthorn.

Like Collingwood, Carlton and Essendon. These area teams where I am glad are eating ******** at the moment.

Infact, when/if we beat Essendon, I'll be winning $100 off my mate, who I bet in the pre season that we will beat them. Now thats what I'll be happy about :D

The only thing I really hate about Hawthorn these days is Dermott and some of the posters that they have.

They will be 4-6 after next round and really should have been 6-4 or 7-3 after then have beaten Collingwood, if results went their way.

Thats a big improvement and let them get the media. I dont want any media coverage until we smash teams. Until we are safe in the 8. I've seen good starts being blown many times, and the less media pressure the better.

Hopefully the media jump on Geelongs ******** now.

We do not need the media for respect. We dont need the media build up. They can ******** all over us all they want. Aslong as we make the 8, draft and trade wisely over the next season, I'll be happy.

I'd add in Schultz and Pattison in that category. Another KPP and we stack up pretty good all round really.

Took the words out of my mouth.

Geelong are on the brink of Premiership success. IMO they will win the flag in 2005.

But at this moment in time, all St Kilda and Geelong have achieved is a loss in a Preliminary Final. I'd rather be compared to Port or Brisbane. They have come home with the goods. :D

Hope your right mate.

First few selections in next draft must be KPP's

emerging superpowers?

you hvae got to be taking in all sorts of hallucinogens to believe that.

Both teams are going to have a honeymoon period over the next 2-3 years... then drop right off the pace again as your real superstars retire. Simple as that.
