It was f***ing 44.8 degrees here on Boxing day, hottest day in 7 years. Not to mention we had the hottest Christmas since 1915.

Yay - it's finally cooled down. Just hit our forecast overnight low of 30 degrees.

Wouldn't surprise me if we hit 40 again before lunch tomorrow.

Not whinging - love the hot weather (only downside is it wears the kids out too quickly). 5th 40+ degree day I've copped this year already. 6th one tomorrow.

And a couple of days in wet Sydney next week to cool down.

It's days like today i'm glad I don't live in Melbourne anymore. Ahhh those days of getting the train into the city for work when expected max 40+ were a killer, especially on the way home and the person squashed next to you had mega BO and the air con on said train barely struggling to even raise a flutter.

At least you know in Melbourne in the next day or so there will be a cooler change where in my part of the world only cool change is when you're indoors with the air con at full blast.

Tho May-October here is bliss.

It didn't snow today, but there's this think layer of frost/ice all over everything, which makes it as slippery as an Englishman with a business deal.

I am sitting here beside the fire with a nice pint of Guinness, planning on having sausages and mash for my dinner though.

Update on Hot in my part of the world. Humid cos of the MEGA rain on and off for the past 10 days - yesterday was a thriller. Roads blocked, yards flooded - the usual stuff in the North this time of the year. Can't wait for the more that is predicted.
