It's more than a game

This is what I've been thinking lately.

I've invested so much of myself and identity into this club.

The impact of losing weighs me down for a week, as do the victories give me energy and enthusiasm.

But I remember.

I have got a small window of time on this earth and I have chosen to give a huge chunk of that to supporting Richmond. Sometimes I question this choice, but was it even a choice, It was past on to me through my family, I fell in love with the combination of colors, mascot and song while sitting along side my Grandmother, who is now gone.

These are the things I cherish more than anything else, these are the memories that keep me coming back week in week out. The rituals are what keep me motivated even when the team is performing badly, these are the reasons why I will never walk away from this club.

It means to much to me.

My thoughts as I sat opposite my 8 year old and 15 year old during train trip home were much the same.

For the first time in a long time my whole family attended the match on Sunday (apart from Bomber supporter Mother). My 80 year old father, my sister, niece, my kids. Excruciating? You bet.

But, there is no turning back for any of us. And this media onslaught is killing me. I never would have imagined that the Tiges would be in this position after the recent start of the season. Let's face it...we were all so full of hope. What I want to know is this. Does anyone truly believe we will rise above this and turn our season around? Because after attending last two matches, I don't believe it can happen.

Yeah you gotta still love the Tiges.
No matter how bad we are we still have stuff on opposition clubs
eg. *North (if that's their most current name) won't be around in 5 years time and their best player ever is a.........
*Footscray had to change their name to survive and have won only one flag in 130 years (in the 50's)
*Coll have had the highest paid coach in Australian Sporting History for a decade (paying him billions) and he hasn't won a flag for them and their president is a .............who laughs at his own jokes and whos best mate is Sam Newman and James Brayshaw!!!!
*Freo are coached by Mark Harvey etc. etc.

Pretty sure the dogs have only been around for 84 years. If you wanna include the other 50 years in the VFA you have to include their 10 or so VFA flags.

But still, you could mention that we absolutely rape Carlton whenever we play them in finals.
