D Jacobs has been standing since the 2001 Grand Final. I think somebody needs to get the guy a deckchair so he can rest his legs before the season starts.

Yep - especially you catwalk.

Rama and Danny-Boy have done well, its the others that really need to step up.

Rioli-Poly definitely has the class, McGrath has the pace, and McVeigh has the hair (well I guess he is a pretty good kick into the forward line at times), so they better bloody well prove it in 2003.

Would've kept both Cara and heff over catwalk if it were possible....

how can you say ramma hasn't stepped up when he came 3rd in the B&F!

Jacobs had a great season!!

Agree on all except Jacobs who improved greatly this year. Ramma has been good, but hasn't improved over the last 3 years. Time he stepped it up a notch, he is certainly capable.

These two boys have been terrific in the last 1/2 years, but the point i'm trying to make is, with Sheedy taking to the list with a hatchet, these guys are among the more 'experienced' players, and as a result, are gunna have to take more responsibility and show more leadership with kids like Harvey, Hunt, Reynolds, Welsh etc, coming thru next year.

As for the rest, they've all shown ability at times, but it's about time they contributed on a more consistent level instead of relying on the likes of Hird, Lloyd, Johnno boys, Wellman, etc. to get us over the line every week.

Add D.Hille to that list and possibly, to a lesser extent, A.Henneman.

Can you imagine if we draft the younger McVeigh? We'd have more hair-styles than Leon Davis, and more stylists coming to the club than an average day at Hawthorn!

Sheeds should just shave Spike's head - he'd probably win the B&F if that happened!

My list:

Rioli
McVeigh
McGrath
Henneman
Hille (does he need to lift just a tad!)

Ramma does need to lift a bit, but he's not alone. One bloke that needs to have a super year is M.Lloyd. I know he was injured, but he needs to put his stamp on the Essendon forward line. Any over-the-top aggressiveness will get him in trouble due to his record, but he needs to harden up again. He did become a bit soft late in last season.

And Fletcher just needs to go the ball - even if he high-tackles someone next season he'll get rubbed out.

DJ has been great for us in defense.

Rama needs to be cut loose to play on HIS terms and not to have to chaseomeone else around the park.

Macca showed a lot of improvement since Round 20...But i agree he needs to show more

Rolly needs to pull his head in and get off the Turtles

And Corey seems to be out of Favour ever since the last round of 2001...maybe he hit on Sheed's daughter or something

'Bout bloody time too. Watching that Essendon-Richmond game in England, I thought David Beckham pulled on the #10 jersey for Essendon as a one off, before I realised it was Spike.

didn't he say he would've done it sooner, but lloyd's gf wanted him to look good in her wedding photos

Agree with McVeigh, McGrath and Rioli. Not Rama or Danny.

You forgot Henneman, Hille, Harvey, Reynolds and Bannister for mine. All of these guys should be stepping up a cog in 2003.

In some games in 2002, I felt that too many guys waited for someone else to take charge. It's not only the younger guys who need to guard against complacency. Three of the main offenders, are no longer playing for Essendon.
