Straight to the chase:
When I plug my iPod Classic into my PC it makes the sound as it always does when you plug in a USB device, but this time it kind of blurs together and sounds slightly unusual.
- iTunes, nor My Computer recognises it.
- My iPod screen lights up, but it doesn't charge or come up with 'do not disconnect'.
- When I unplug my iPod, it makes the normal USB disconnecting sound.
- I've tried plugging it in to all available USB slots with the same result.
- I can plug my USB key in and it works fine.
- I tested it on another computer and it recognises it.
- I tried another iPod (shuffle) on my computer and it recognises it.
- I've reset my iPod, restarted the computer and put it in disk mode to no avail.
By process of elimination, my computer must have something against my iPod, because the USB ports are fine and other iPods work on it. The last time I plugged in my iPod was probably 2 weeks ago and it was working fine. It was sitting in a 32 degree room yesterday, but I don't think that's the problem because it can still play music/video etc.
If anyone can help me, I would GREATLY appreciate it.
Thanks.
