Now that Fremantle are pretty much the best team in the comp, they are hated. Fans of other clubs complain about the amount of exposure Freo (in particular Fyfe) gets when in reality, they would love it if their team got the same treatment.

Also I noticed that commentators almost always seem to barrack for the underdogs against Freo, when just 2 years ago everyone loved Freo because they were "underdogs" for a lot of their matches. It is hard to catch a grasp on it, but I feel like that it is happening right now.

I mean, maybe I'm the only one who feels this way. What do you guys think?
 
I've noticed that too. Being a Victorian it's really noticeable because I'm always around fans of other teams. In 2013 I got a lot of pats on the back & people telling me they were barracking for us. Now that we're the best team, over the past 2 weeks I've gotten a lot of "lol your team's shit, you'll get pumped by hawks & fyfe'll lose the brownlow".

I think it's because everyone's scared of losing to us, because (despite today's form) we can beat anyone. And status quo for us over the life of Freo is to be the joke of the competition.
 
I quite literally made the same point to a mate of mine who had the temerity to ask if why was Fyfe getting the treatment. He shut up quickly when I asked where were his objections to Ablett, Pendlebury, Watson, Bartel, Selwood and Franklin getting the same sort of treatment.

Yep, we have joined the ranks of the hunted. Middling to fair teams will play out of their skins against us, the superstars of opposition teams will lift their work rate to go with Fyfe, including any that are otherwise underachieving and overpaid ones. We can no longer enjoy the luxury of off games.

Think we'll never win with the media, as most of the industry is ex players. Alot of the players used to come from beating Freo convincingly and have little or no respect for the club (Ricciuito, Dunstall, Barry Hall, Dwayne Russel)- David King maybe, he's a bit 50-50). Now it seams from jealousy or bitterness (the way Lyon was appointed, boring football). Can't tell what's their agenda is.

I've noticed that our players have started using soap on their hands instead of Grippo.
 
I've noticed that the supporters of teams we stick it up during the season start to haunt our gameday threads calling for constant frees against us and laughing when we get sticthd up. I'm happy for that to continue. Them hating us and us flogging their teams on the field, especially the Essendon and Wet Toast supporters.

Great seeing buttplugger35 lose his shit every week as well

He's really become a true parody of himself hasn't he? I can't look at any post of his on any other board and not associate his insanity on our gameday threads with it

Still massively offended about us stealing Ross I think.

Also think that most of his posts are just for troll value now, trying to suck people in rather than actually contributing

Years ago there used to a big, thick - usually drunk - dreadlocked st kilda fan that used to go to the games and really stick it to Freo whenever the saints came over here. Was never really abusive - just really gave it his all

Saw him at a few other teams games doing the same thing but more at saints games than anything else. Haven't seen him in a while now

Could it be plugger? This reporter says maybe
 
Other fans / commentators etc can go and get stuffed. I have no good will to them. Whatever is bad for their clubs, their players, their communities is good.

Give me a cup and shut up.

I see buttplugger as a thin pimply two toothed knucklehead desperately waiting for puberty to arrive and taking his frustrations out on us but he could be the clown you describe. IQ level sounds about right

Disagree. I loved the 2013 season in the last half of it because we were the ones neutrals wanted to win, especially GF and that gave us a lot of good will, respect and was our coming out under Lyon really.

I still want us to be feared against their sides, but also barracked for in neutral situations.

It seems at the moment Fyfe is the thing neutrals are barracking for, as opposed to our whole side.

Media laps us up now though. And for once I believe the hype #beautifuldelusion
