Does anyone else think it would be a good idea if Jonothan Griffen played for another sanfl side. How he is going to break into the Central league side with Scoullar and Mckenzie playing there? He has been playing well for a few weeks now in the reserves and still doesnt look like playing league footy for the dogs. I have seen him play a few times and for a ruckman his skills are excellent especially in regards to his kicking skills.
I really hope the crows keep him on the list as i think he is definately a player of the future. The problem the crows have is we have so many ruckman now.

To be honest no. I think if he is good enough he should be able to play along side those 2 or at least push Mckenzie aside.

Personally, from what I have seen, I dont think he's good enough to be playing SANFL league footy at a consistently good standard and will not be on the AFC list at the end of the year.

I think he should.

Bulldogs is probably THE worst club to be aligned to in the SANFL because they have a strong core of players that they rely on and they bring along THEIR youngsters.

I like what I have seen from Griffin. I think if he were at some other club he would most likely be getting a game. Change of scenery did wonders for Jacob Surjan and isn't it interesting that he too was aligned to Centrals ;)

And I do think that he will be on our list next year. He has missed a lot of time through injuries. He is getting used to his new body and he definetly has the potential to be a good ruckman. I suspect the club will pesist with him.

Stiffy, Mckenzie is an average big man IMO. Do you think Griffin is not getting a game ahead of him because he 1) is not good enough or 2) they prefer the development of their own youngsters as you said ?

I would have thought, the way people on here rave about his 'skills for a big guy', the boy could have at least been playing league by now. Is he actually dominating games at ressie level ?

My comment on him not being on the list at the end of the year is because of the depth of the ruckmen we have and the fact he cant even get a league game, albeit a Centrals one.

To me, whilst having potential, he wont be on the list at the end of the year be it by trade or delisting.

All due respect Stiffy, but Surjan wasnt doing badly with Centrals before he put in the mother of all dummy spits. He was dropped to the reserves because he simply wasnt putting in the big ones and didnt deserve to wear the jumper. He thought he was above having to earn his spot for the Dogs. I believe ultimately that when the tough gets going, he will go missing because he's been given the soft option too many times, as he was on that occasion. The Port Magies can have him as far as I'm concerned, inside he's jelly like, and Port will one day regret giving him the soft option instead of making him work harder and earn it.
Griffen will get his chance with Central. He will have to earn it though, which he is ATM. I'd be very surprised if he's not in the firsts in the next few games. In the long term I believe his time at Centrals will hold him in good stead. He is learning that he has to earn everything, nothing is free or easy, and when he cracks the big time, he'll have the mental strength to be succesful under the real heat.
