Another week off for Jack. He certainly looked a bit under done in the first two games. No need to rush him back in until he is ready both physically and mentally. Boys are getting the job done without him.

Having said that if he is fit and ready to go, it certainly increases our chances against the Dees this weekend.

Back into the side this week and was serviceable without starring.

5 of his 20 possessions were as a result of free kicks. Game time of only 70% suggests still being managed but when he was on the ground he was around the stoppages with 11 contested possessions and an equal team high 6 clearances.

Still plenty of upside to Jack's season still to come.

St Kilda Football Club advises that Jack Steven will take an extended break in order to focus on his mental health and wellbeing.
General Manager of Football Simon Lethlean said the decision was the best option for the 28-year-old.
“The club and Jack have been working on managing his health and well-being over many months,” Lethlean said.
“The best option at present for Jack to fully overcome his challenges is to take an extended break away from football.
“We don’t have an exact time-frame on how long that will be but the club will continue to provide as much support as possible.
“We ask again that Jack be given the time and privacy to deal with this matter.”

St Kilda ace Jack Steven will line up for Sandringham in the VFL on Sunday, marking his return from an extended break away from the game.
The four-time Trevor Barker Award winner last took the field in Round 6 of the AFL season, before taking time away to focus on his mental health and wellbeing.

After returning to training last month, Steven was today named for the Zebras in their clash with Footscray at Wilson Storage Trevor Barker Beach Oval on Sunday at 12.10pm.
General Manager of Football Simon Lethlean said the club wasn’t placing any expectations on the 29-year-old.
“It’s really pleasing to have Jack back playing after a number of weeks of training with the group,” he said.
“He’s a much-loved player at our club, and it’s an important step in the right direction.”

Good news with Stuv returning to Sandy over the weekend......10 possession 3rd quarter sounds promising. Hoping to see him back with the Saints sooner rather than later.

St Kilda star Jack Steven made a positive comeback in the VFL, increasing hopes that he will make a speedy return to AFL level.
The four-time club champion, who hadn't played in almost three months as he focused on his mental health, gathered 21 possessions from three quarters in a midfield/forward role in a 37-point loss to Footscray.
Steven, 29, enjoyed a 10-possession third term before sitting out the last quarter.

Four-time Trevor Barker Award winner Jack Steven could line up against Fremantle after three successive games for Sandringham.

The No. 3 has played just the four games this season after taking time away to focus on his mental health, yet the midfield ace is chomping at the bit for an end-of-season return.

As voted by you, Jack Steven is your Round 21 Dare Iced Coffee Sainter of the Round.

A game-breaking return to senior football has seen Jack Steven take out the Round 21 Dare Iced Coffee Sainter of the Round.
The four-time Trevor Barker Award winner polled an overwhelming majority of votes to take home the fan-voted award.
Steven amassed 22 disposals, seven marks and three goals in the his comeback game, with his last goal in the shadows of full-time allowing the Saints to stage one final assault forward.

Josh Bruce capitalised moments later to secure the win for the red, white and black.
It was a welcome return for the fan-favourite No. 3, who has taken time away from football to focus on his mental health.

Maybe a case of the second up blues for Jack on Saturday. Really struggled with the pace of the game which is obviously as a result of the interrupted and challenging year he has faced. Hopefully he maintains his spot in the side for the last game of the season which could be his last in the red, white and black. Personally I would love him to stay a one club player with us but whatever is best for Jack is the way I think we should roll.

As per last couple of seasons lots of talk that he wants to go to Geelong . Looks like its a wait and see situation for Saints fans who desperately want him to stay .
One of my all time favourites. Do struggle when our club losses or trades or whatever our best players. Just like Goddard and Dal. Breaks my heart

I hereby remove myself from any player advocation in the 2020 season. First time advocate (didn't do a lot, sorry) and the guy I get goes from 8th in the Brownlow the previous year to only playing a handful of games and then gets traded to Geelong for a packet of Twisties.

Thanks for the memories Jack, hope you find the inner peace you are seeking down Geelong way. In fact no need to worry about footy anymore, go surfing, hang out with your kids and enjoy life would be my advice!
