Not sure if anyone has brought him up and given his age dont want to put any pressure on the kid but looks like we might finally get something out of the father/son rule, other then a soft squib who leaves when the going gets tough of course

Apparently the first kid in 135 years at that school to play First XVIII at that age (Year 9) and apparently in the u16s state squad

Would be nice if some of our ex players could start producing some talent!

It goes on a bidding process conducted in the week prior to the draft.
Clubs have the chance to nominate a pick to use on the player, the club who he would go to father son then has the chance to match that bid with a their next pick after the first teams nominated pick.

Eg. Adelaide use their second rounder(for the sake of the argument 25), Melbourne then have to use their next pick after that(for the sake of the argument 26). Melbourne would then have to take him at 26.

If a club nominated 25, and Melbourne's next pick was 72, they could then take him at 72.

If a club nominated 72, and Melbourne's last pick was 65, Melbourne would have to use 65.

If a club nominated 10, and Melbourne had picks 1 and 17, Melbourne would use 17 as it's next available pick after the nominated pick 10.

In 2008 he played for Carey and i played against him (not directly) he is good over head and a strong guy and an absolute gun. But i think it is far too early to say things like this but in a few years definnitly.

in 2008 i tagged Viney in a Wesley vs Carey match for Quaters 2,3 and 4 and although i cut down most of his influence on the game for Quater 2 and 3 he Bursted away in the forth, he is a very strong player and extremly hard to tackle, he has a great kick and will hopefully be a great player for melbourne.
