Growing up in SA we never understood how any team could have someone representing their club who carried on like that, regardless of talent. There was the odd bloke like Granger who used to deck a few blokes but not all the lunatic stuff Jacko did. Now i'm older i think he is piss funny.

piss funny.
I had to go and you tube some Jacko footage,he is pretty witty actually.Haha..and because he played without his false teeth it made him look even more like a freak.
If someone carried on that now even their own fans would be outraged lol

Mal looks more fit at 40 than jacko looked when he was playing.Big Mal looks very fit compared to Jacko and a lot more focused
He wouldn't be alive if that was the case.Didnt Jacko rip a bunch of money off from Chopper during their tours together?
I've seen an interview with Chopper where he mentions how Jacko was lining his own pockets,i'm not sure what came of it but you do know 90% of Choppers stories actually happened to other people and the other 10% are exagerated. So whether or not any of it is true who knows. He wouldn't be alive if that was the case.
He's a clown.
There's no chance that a good deal of that isn't staged or deliberate hamming up.
Haven't heard nothing about him for 20 years so dunno how he;s travelling these days
He could play, in 1982 Gerard Healy kicked 77 goals Jacko kicked 76, he also played alongside a runaway Brownlow Medal winner in Brian Wilson. Iincredibly Melbourne only won 8 games that year. It's puzzling, but Jacko is a nut job and that's not puzzling.
Hes quoted as not giving a red rats arse about footy. He played it and had no interest once he finished.
This is my impression as well of Jacko. Crazy as a foxI saw him on stage years ago at a sportsmans night and he was like that, truly mental and unhinged. Afterwards having a few beers he had endless time for everybody and was a genuinely friendly bloke.
I remember walking through the old Adelaide airport & seeing Jacko with his phone to his ear.I've seen an interview with Chopper where he mentions how Jacko was lining his own pockets,i'm not sure what came of it but you do know 90% of Choppers stories actually happened to other people and the other 10% are exagerated. Yep, had a yak to him at crown a long time ago, very nice bloke i thought. It's an act. All part of Fox Retro Round. Whateley was trying to build something pretending it's serious, Sheahan was clearly playing along (I've had plenty of arguments" etc...)
Fox will no doubt try to keep it up as its all part of the retro legends. Acting mental is Jackos meal ticket and always has been.

A bit of a fruitcake that's for sure. Favourite memory was Melbourne against Essendon at Windy Hill. Handstands in the goal square, chesting and shadow boxing bewildered Essendon players. Was in exceptional form that day. As others have said he played off this loony act during and after his career.
I was there that day. Worked the Essendon crowd up into a absolute frenzy with one bloke jumping the fence taunting him to come over the boundary line to have a go haha
