Not making it back as an elite player

Sorry Scottie, I know he’s a family friend of yours, but I don’t want him anywhere near our club anymore.Would you take back a fresh minded jaidyn Stephenson
He can prove himself in the vfl for another club to take a punt if he wants. The pies have standardsWould you take back a fresh minded jaidyn Stephenson
Like the farkwin Titanic!Nope, that ship has sailed.
Would you take back a fresh minded jaidyn Stephenson
I’d take him into the VFL program, a solid 6-12 months proving he has a new and improved attitude then we can talk…Would you take back a fresh minded jaidyn Stephenson
The magenta would really bring out the colour in his eyes.Make him a runner. I'd enjoy seeing him in the magenta vest.
Or would the family club be willing to welcome back the prodigal son, if he can prove he's changed his ways?Let's be honest, he played some incredible footy in his first two seasons. He looked like he could be anything. But his career was derailed by a combination of his own youthful foolishness, a lack of professionalism, and a clear culture clash with Bucks, who was the paragon of professionalism and didn't suffer anyone who didn't fully commit to the high standards he demanded (and rightfully so).
It was 110% the right move to trade him out. (I won't just him on his career after that point, because I don't think Gary Ablett Snr could have done much in that Kangaroos forwardline.)
That being said... if I could choose any coach and culture to rehabilitate a talented but troubled young man and get them playing their best footy again, it would be Fly and the Collingwood coaching staff.
Would I take a flyer on a rookie list spot? From a purely talent to cost perspective, I think I maybe would. Former first round rising star winners rarely come cheap, or in this case, completely free.
Would the playing group, most of whom played alongside him, be open to bringing him back? I have my doubts. He seems to have burnt a fair bit of trust there, and this squad value culture and connectedness above all else.
Would Jaidyn himself be willing to fully commit to the professional standards required of an AFL footballer in 2026? I'd say, Scottie65, you're probably in a better position to answer that than anyone else on here.
