Jake King....The Ducker.

Well...it migth seem like a troll, but I think Jake king is the most guilty of this practice.

Great player...fast great to watch, great ball winner....but EVERY time he gets tackled he ducks his head.


Whether this is to win a free kick, or to try to break the tackle I dunno. I think players should be penalised for it as it can actually cause serious injurys to the player who ducks.

The guy is 5 foot nothing and actually uses his lack of height to his own advantage, perhaps if he wasnt so much of a mouth then opposition players wouldnt be going in for a tackle so recklessly.

If you duck your head to get out of a tackle that's your own personal choice.

You're saying if a player duck his head it should be an automatic free to the other team?

Probably a similar thing with Cryil Rioli. He is also very short, and cops it high a lot but isn't rewarded.

Perhaps if he ducked a bit he would be but as I said it is really dangerous to do so.

Mayby a free kick would be too much.

I just think players should be encouraged not to do this as if they cop frontal contact with their hear ducked it can cause paralysis as happened to the fitzroy player in the (I think it was..) late 80's.

obscure observation, how was that ridulous free against kingy in first, breaks a tackle then bounces it and is pinned for holding the ball ..WTF...man they had some gifts in front of goal

Check how many frees Ben McGlynn got last year doing the same thing. Yeah its obviously a tactic the vertically challenged use.. Good luck to them.
