If anything it will entice a tagger to be more annoying so they get slapped (which will have a 0 effect on the tagger) and their team receives a free kick or 50m which might result in a goal.

FACT - They ruled that Jako's slap did not constitute a strike because there was not sufficient force involved.
No precedent has been set - A slap with sufficient force will still get you reported.
Yes, every time a player with a clean record over about 12 seasons does something really minor, the tribunal may exercise some discretion and not rule great players out of great games. What a huge disappointment.

What is it with the tribunal? The last few weeks, most of the decisions have been controversial at best and utter rubbish at worst. Now they're changing their minds? How do they expect anyone to take them seriously?
The individual sentences may not be fair, but it'll deter anyone from so much as touching another player. Who knows what'll happen if you get reported. Russian Roulette would be fairer, quicker, cleaner and considerably less random.

What a load of crap. Slapping is a form of striking and that's what he was reported for in the first place.
The tribunal should not have given "Jacko" the 1 week to start with. Thank goodness, common sense prevails in the end!!
