Should Bucks use Aish in his best possible position of its to the detriment of the team?

Who said it be a Bad Thing?

We don't know yet

That group of players you've listed is a diverse bunch and in my opinion should never be competing for the same spots in the 22.

They are pretty much directly competing for spots of the bench, Aish, Greenwood, Phillips, Blair, don't command a spot ni the first choice midfield, but are competing for resting forward/bench rotation spots. And While playing style isn't the same, it's what each brings as part of the midfield rotation. i Got Phillips ahead of the group , Aish, Blair, Greenwood are battling for a bench spot. With the likes of Wells, Wills, JDG, Broomy. thats more competition for "midfield" spots. Maybe yet got one more inside type on bench, anemone outside, someone vaguely forwardor ruck, someone vaguely back in a "balnced bench" Phllipsor aish, Blair or greenwood.

I also getting the Feeling Bucks is not using Aish to he Best Possible Postion. He can play Outside but where he stands out is the Inside Work.

Though I would say his Kicking is Above Average and is a Elite Mark
Lol. He is not elite in any component of his game.

Good mark for his size. Good if not inconsistent kick.

Hey guys, sad to report that I think Aish needs a lot of work. If he thinks he can carry this haircut into the season proper then I'm not sure if he is cut out for it really.

You'd think with such a long preseason that he'd of taken his preparation a little more seriously and be a little sharper, but sadly he has really let his hair go. It's a shame to be honest as I always thought he was a player that one of the best potentials in the league for a good looking haircut. I'm sure there is still time to improve on this in the next 2 weeks. I really hope so too because it would be a joy to watch Aish run around with a potentially maximally realised haircut.

If he's costing better players midfield minutes then it's detrimental to the team. He needs to earn his minutes

At least he is good at keeping it dry

He's trying, probably too hard. Think I detect the beginning of a drape too. He can be creative with that, but it will be transparent.

When we recruited him I believed he would be a gun for us and I still do.
Aish and WHE are both going to make many Collingwood fans very happy.
Lock it in. If Otto says it is so then it is.
Otto is the man

So with the Loaded Midfield. IF He can't crack the Midfield would he be someone you put up for Trade for a Team who needs Mids for a KPP Then?

Definitely not. I really rate Aish. I just think as he showed in his AFL form last year after an extended VFL run its better for him and the team if he earns his stripes.

I do worry that as a Purer Outside Player that Aish could Average over 20+ Touches a game

Exactly why I was looking at the possession ratio, most outside mids average around 20ppg. At that mark a player like Aish would only have about 12 to 13 uncontested possessions whereas your genuine outside mids who go at a ratio above 3 would have 15+. He simply won't do enough damage on the outside with those sought of numbers. In a well balanced midfield a player with Aish's skill set should be playing the majority of their minutes inside where the bulk of their possessions count.

Indeed. Wills is a forgotten man at the moment. But he's right there in the mix too I would've thought. Why hasn't he been seen? Is he injured ?

Busy running laps.

Oh, and I forgot Sier as well, the list just continues to grow.

sounds like half the team is running laps, or are they

Therein is the problem because he won't be in our best options for inside roles. The coaches job is on the line and the club has stated it is going for broke to make finals. In other words this is not a year in which we should be playing players for the sake of development for the future; or experimenting; but rather purely playing the best players most likely to give us a win week to week. If this is the agenda for selection then Aish is going to have to hugely improve his output and consistency of output in the role he is given in order to remain in the team.
He has a future with us no doubt; but this year in particular, we can't afford to carry too many of his low impact 10 possession Mr-invisible-midfielder games.

Maybe putting Aish in the Middle means he goes Missing Less

He is really becoming a strong overhead mark, a midfielder that can take grabs around the ground like that can be a real asset

Against richmond last year he led all comers in contested marking. A real highlight of his game are his extra sticky fingers

We won't make finals without James Aish, one of the reasons the club turned around the second half of last year was due to the form of Aish and a few others. Alot of crazy talk going on!
