Get on the Melbourne website and watch Chip's interview with Matt Burgan after the loss to Carlton.

That's what we need from our players, that's the kind of passion we want. The desire to win. He seemed to me to be close to tears of frustration with the way we are playing. He doesn't care about injuries, he just wants us to play competitive footy.

Are there any good reasons that James Frawley should not be appointed the Captain of the MFC next season?

He is young, a hard and competitive player, a daring player who can lift the team and he seems to have the right attitude.

We bemoan our leadership group, maybe the group needs an overhaul and a focus on our talented young leaders. Grimes, Jones, Chip, Watts, Trengove, Scully.

This is too obvious for leading teams to consider! I wonder if your gonna get called a 13 year old ****** for suggesting it.

Personally I would perfer McKenzie to be captain. A bloke not blessed with a lot of talent but gets the best of his talent and always has a red hot go like McDonald, someone to look up to.

We are where we are because our players look up to softies like Davey and Green.

Next captain should be Moloney, if he continues this good form and does not stuff up off the field. He is the most natural leader at the club, in a football sense.

By the time he's done, it'll be around 4 years away so a number of players could put their hand up by then, such as Frawley, Scully, Trengove, Grimes, Tapscott, Watts.

I reckon you're wrong about Newton.

Surely, someone in the Juice Newton Appreciation Thread would have wanted to make him captain circa 2007.

We need someone who plays consistent footy, Moloney hasn't been able to handle the tag these last few weeks. Chip would be a good leader but needs to work on the way he speaks to the media, he say I suppose too many times lol

Chip has been the only one to come out and give honest feedback on the last few weeks. He doesn't use injuries and young kids as an excuse like others do.
