Word is they are both going to be ok.:thumbsu:

Both will be rested for 1 week and if there is anothe rpre-season game in a fortnight which I hope there is, both will play atleast half a game and be spot on for Round 1.

Dont think there is, usually they have the weekend off before round 1.

Hird should take the week off. The knock on the calf might make him more susceptible to a real injury to it next week and it's not like he's the type of player who needs pre season matches to be ready for the real thing.

I'm devestated! I played all my junior footy in Red Cliffs and finally I was going to be able to say I've played on the same ground as James Hird!!!
Memo to the coaches - it's a big, spongy ground that can be taxing on the legs. Stick to the wing on the Hill side, where the ground is a bit firmer.
Just speaking to my mates back home, there all pretty excited and appreciative for the game.

I can't believe it either, I used to live 2 minutes walk from the oval and walked passed there everyday to go to school and now we will almost be fielding a full strength team there.

I know its no comparison to going to every Melbourne game here but I haven't been able to get to a pre-season game yet (I blame Brisbane) and now they're getting one LOL, great cause though, good on both Richmond and Essendon.

Should be a great atmosphere, Red Cliffs are the Tigers and the town is full Richmond supporters, no shortage of Bombers fans in the area though of course. The oval has an absolute top notch lighting also, could have started it at 7 if they wanted.

Now that Johns is starting to get a go - who now thinks he might be okay?

I certainly wasn't convinced about this guy - given all the hoo-hah - but after Friday night I'm prepared to give him a go. Some excellent marks (one really strong one in particular) If he can build on that he could be very handy. Not thrilled with his kicking for goal but that is a minor issue at this stage if he continues to win the ball so impressively.

Hirdy should go to Mildura & play some of the game (even if it's just a qtr) Certainly won't hurt him IMO. Gun performance on Friday night in Bendigo.
