Okay just a few days out from the draft and I am trying to get a read on this kid.

I think that he is a 30-60 type who could turn into a real steal.

AFL Profile:

I think that he has definite talent, and could end up as a good third tall or possible roving type player who plays up the ground.

He played primarily as a KPF at the champs and dominated early games, and there was a lot to like, strong mark, good skills, mobile. I have heard reports that he has pushed into the midfield at SANFL junior level and played quite well winning the ball, which would be impressive if true.

He is reasonably athletic, good endurance and can push up the ground, reasonable mobility and is quite agile, above average speed, yet by no means quick but not slow either. He has very strong hands and reads the play well. His skills are very good, he is a great kick at goal and very good at hitting targets. Smart and efficent is his ball use, and he could make a very good player.

The major issue in my book is where will he play.

KPF is probably not the best go as he is undersized. I am think either a third tall who can roam up the field and push on to a wing. Or a third tall defender who can shut an opponent down, help others out and provide very good rebound with his disposal. Or both and a utlity type.

Thoughts?

like his marking strength, agree that he may be a little undersized for KPF, but definitely looks a good 3rd tall option. Could become a solid player for sure. I reckon he may have been overshadowed by Day which has probably led to him flying under the radar a bit, but he looks really agile and an accurate kick for goal

Broke his leg during the finals which is why he may drop.

Played forward throughtout juniors and then spent some time in the midfield in the SANFL reserves (as you noted) but was mainly used down back in the reserves and seniors.

Obviously not the same calibre, but he really does fit the Goddard-type mould. Around number 40 in the draft would be reasonable, if he drops any lower than that then it's a great steal.
