Jared is too good for most of his team mates, his handballs are too quick, his kicks are too clever. He is like a Brazilian National soccer player, playing for Adelaide United. Simply just too good.

Petrenko doesn't need to improve, the rest of the team needs to improve to reach his level.

His 2nd quarter in DEFENCE was superb.

Thank God he didn't get much of the 2nd half back there, because he was far too clean and direct and played with far too much attack on the ball and body.

It only took 12 weeks to get him there and 1 excellent qtr later he was moved again.

He looked fantastic down back. How does Craig warrant his playing pets forward when the evidence suggests he could and should be a star down back?. This of course will release otten to play further up the ground next year too.

Well, you have to have someone in the forward line...

Matt wright or a recruit? Nothing that can't be fixed with some needs based recruiting

Pets did look good down back for a while but he was running around like an unregistered dog, as soon as the forward line tag went to him he became next to useless again.

I do agree he should be played down back if possible most weeks.

Anyone who doesn't rate Petrenko knows nothing about footy.

Petrenko should take Doughty's position next game.

Doughty can find a tagging role or be dropped (with no send-off game clause).

Imagine the run and synergy of Johncock, Petrenko and Armstrong.

Finally some attack, some forward moving play, and an ability to have options for teams with decent small forwards. Those 3 would be like a defensive version of the Carlton forward line smalls. It would give a modern looking defence capable of playing modern forward lines...not the slow model that was good when Bassett ruled the 50.

Love to get another skillful running playmaker in the back 6/7 (ala Otten/Danger/Mackay type) but depends on how many talls in the opposition forward line. Easily fixed with a loose man or at least a winger that starts on defensive side/half-back.

Add that to the core of Rutten, Bock, Davis (with Sellar another option if required) and we have a far better mix.

The run provided by the above mix should allow Rutten to stop being too creative and just dish off to those blokes, and Bock may actually start thinking more positively and look forwards again for a change.

Our game plan needs to minimise terrible disposal coming out of the half-back region, and with teams clogging up the centre area it's not easy to hit targets. No room for Stevens, Symes, Doughty in defence anymore.

Didn't like how it was either PEtrenko of Johncock in the backlines.....Agree witht he Pets for Dogga down back suggestion.

This still leaves us a small forward short because that isn't dogga......Cook probably?

Considering Porps is terrible atm we are both a small lead-up forward and small crumbing forward short!

I'd drop Porps for a week or two (now I've said that, he'll kick 7 next game:o).

Who comes in to the small roles:

I'd consider Cook, Wright, Jacky or Jaensch. All have good reasons to be chosen given where our season is at (and obviously accounting for form leading into the next game). If Jacky has another good one then why not? Wright should get a shot and Talia is out for the season. Cook has the zip and marking ability, though will make us cry with kicking. Jaensch has the skill to be the lead-up small...I'd like to see him lacing out Walker.

I say go tall mate. Gunna to play Porps role (he's faster anyway). Give him the instruction to keep out of Tippett and Walkers way, and get on the crumb. He's very intelligent and reads the ball well off hands.

Then bring in Cook.

Jaensch as a maybe, but I'd like him to just get back into things and get confident in the SANFL.

Jacky.....wow, imagine hearing this suggestion last year! Same as Jaensch, more SANFL please.

Petrenko in the backline and playing great footy. Well Golleeee. Who'd a thunk it.

How long has it taken, and how good did he look. But naturally is then shifted.

Wouldn't mind seeing a lot more of Petrenko and Armstrong running the ball out of the backline.

I see Armstrong developing into a geniune 'aaron davey' type. Possibly not as good but the ability to hit targets through congested areas.

CRUCIAL to successful footy going forward.
