AFL Club
Melbourne
I did not see a post about this here, I have no idea if he left on bad terms at the end of 2012 (I am saying that in case he did and I get flagged a troll).

But for those 150 games he played at Melbourne it was great to have him. A winner of the Rising Star, and a good no nonsense defender.

Pity here in QLD I only got to see him play every now and then.

And shame he didn't get his 200 games.

He didn't leave on bad terms, I don't think anyone on here would begrudge him leaving either. Stuck with us for a long time, wished him nothing but the best when he went to Geelong. Shame injury killed his career, he was never a superstar defender but could have easily played 250 games if he could get on the park.

Was my favourite player for a few years. Loved the way he played, ever since his epic rise to fame in 2004.

Was shattered when he left but I understood.

Will be missed from the game.

Such a dependable player for us.

I remember one time he was badly exposed on QB against Cloke and Dawes, but apart from that he was such a solid part of the defence for many years.

All the best to him in retirement.

Can understand why he would leave, but still kind of miffed he did.

Shows the character of the average bloke we recruit that when shit gets too hard they up and leave instead of buckling down and dragging the club up. Oops sorry for being negative and bullying our playing list guys :$:thumbsu:

He was there from 2007-2012, it is hardly like he had one bad season and said '**** this'.

Neeld didn't want him around as part of the year zero plan. Wouldn't be hard to decide to leave a joke of a team that only makes a token offer to keep you around. Great footy brain and the last Demon to legit snot a bloke on the field. Good luck with whatever comes next Riv. :thumbsu:

Sorry, tell me more about all the talented players who left when your team was in the shitter, there was.... and... and um... oh your team hasn't been anywhere near shit enough for the blokes to leave for over a decade? You've got guys lining up to take paycuts to play in your team. Give me a spell.

Enjoy Frawley mate :thumbsu::rolleyes:

He played 150 games for you - it's not like he upped and left at the first sign of trouble. He gave your club long enough to sort itself out before heading off.

By the way, at various points we lost Jarman, Ben Allan and a few others in the early 90's. Matt Robran refused to play for us and held out for a trade to Adelaide. I dunno how old you are but any Hawthorn supporter over 25 knows enough about being terrible for that kind of remark to make you look like an idiot.

Is it wrong that I enjoy watching players fail that have left us for greater success...

I mean it's not like they were part of the problem!

Pumped that we should expect Clark's retirement any day now.

Piss off mate.

a) This is a team board other than Hawthorns so your idiot comment is redundant, and
b) Any supporter, Hawthorn or otherwises, over 30 knows you've not suffered any...

The point stands. Enjoy Frawley bell end

Unless you were a Hawks supporter born in the 40s or 50s you haven't seen anything close to being terrible. Jarman left to go home AFTER winning you guys a premiership? What a quitter!

Rivers decided to chase a cup at the Cats after it got all too hard here, just like Frawley. Forgive me for not celebrating.

I didnt realise it was school holidays...

He hardly ditched Melbourne. He was a pretty sound player for both you and us, and didn't leave in a sticky situation ala Frawley.

Nope until Tommy passes him he's our best defender for a while. Will always remember him fondly.
