with the likeliness of there not being too much quality for us to pick up in the PSD what do we think of jason cloke?

we might select richards or sampi or maybe an untried player, but i think cloke could add just as much value as either of those..

at the end of the day were trying to get the BEST DUD out of a PACK OF DUDS...:thumbsu:

Fraser anyone ?
(or has he signed up ?)

Josh Fraser? Nah he's expected to become Collingwood's next captain.

As for Jason Cloke, I honestly dont believe we need him, we've already got a good defence lined up and a good forward area aswell thus we dont need Cloke.

ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!! He's a dud.

And why would we want Fraser? So that he can play 8 games a year and sit out the rest with injuries?

Stuff any of the Clokes..they chose the filth over us in the first place..why should we take 'em now?:thumbsd:

honestly jason cloke woud b a better propostion then a richards or collard his bin an all australian and has had a good year for bendigo and could still b of value.

What worries me about Jason Cloke more than anything is the extra baggage he comes with.
You can just imagine his old man stalking Terry all year like some bad parent giving the year 2 teacher a hard time...
"Why isn't Jason getting a run?"
"You should play him at CHF."
"Some of the other boys stole his jock-strap."
"Jason can't come to training today... he has to watch another of my video's."
"I have another son you know..."

Jason Cloke couldnt play footy for a club that he himself chose to play for - why should I believe that he will now play better footy for a team he didnt choose to play for in the first place?

Richmond deserve better - we learned lots from Kingsley!

Thats not how it went David Cloke said to richmond and collingwood if you take 1 of my sons you gotta take em all and richmond said no and collingwood said yes.

Collard has the best prospects out of any of these players. Im not sure if you watch the U18 championships but if you did you would rate him. He and Jetta tore it up and a lot of experts rate him higher then Jetta. Obvioulsy he would be a handful, as is Jetta, but worth the punt i reckon.
He could end up being a star of the AFL or never get his head right and be a flop but i would rather take that risk on him then on a couple of guys who we already know what they have to offer - not a lot.

I watched Cloke play most weeks for Bendigo and whilst serviceable, did nothing to change my opinion on him. He just keeps up with the pace of VFL and i reckon that is where he is suited. He did show he can play up forward (something he couldnt do at the pies) so i guess that is one bonus.

As for Richards he is not even worth commenting on. Good luck to whover picks him up.

I wouldn't be unhappy to get him. It all depends on who is available. It seems like he really wants to get back in an AFL side so if he's working his ass off and shows the commitment he could be a good get.

I'm not sure why people differentiate between the ND and the PSD when it comes to recruitment. Nobody would ever contemplate recruiting Cloke if he were in the ND, but suddenly people are considering him for the PSD. This just defies logic. If one thinks that a player is good enough either now or in the future for the RFC, then he should be picked regardless of the draft type.
I feel that we should always go for a potential match winner if he exists (?Collard) and if he doesn't, then go for the next best. If there are no players that would make there way into your top 25 (even potentially) then don't take them or punt on a young untried player that the recruiting staff feel has some x-factor.

Just my 2 cents worth....

Someone has thrown up every shit player as a prospect in the PSD. Please don't choose a dud for the sake of getting someone

I didnt really follow the demise of Jason Cloke from the pies, but from what i did see before that - he was pretty good. I dont get the cloke hate - maybe its all from his fathers bad behaviour ?

He had a stellar 2002 season. Playing as a loose man in defense he was a very valuable player. I'm not entirely sure what he can offer us now though when we have already built the foundations defensively. Remember Malthouse ruined him by trying to create a forward out of him, the rest is history. I'd say NO to Cloke but I wouldn't be too harsh on him as he can be a handy backmen even purely as a depth player.

He is reasonable as a loose man in defence, going 3rd or 4th up in a spoiling contest. But if you had to choose between giving that role to a defender who can play a bit, or a tall midfielder who can defend a bit - you'd go the midfielder.

I mean if you are going to go for that sort of player use a Pat Bowden who can actually do something with the 20 cheaps touches.

McMahon rules out Cloke. We want to get the ball into the hands of Deledio, McMahon and if he stops breaking down Casserley.

We cut Kellaway because we didn't want a defensive back-flanker. You'd hardly recruit Cloke with that sort of writing on the wall.
