Jason Gram - Sam Fisher

Could be a gun if given a good oportunity IMO. I'd be happy with a straight swap. We are after young midfielders.

Watts will be going home without any shadow of doubt and I want a player who has been given the same oportuntuies as we have given Watts.

No draft picks, no over-the-top suggestions, just a like player for likewise.

What do you reckon?

id be asking for fisher too

having said that though, Where would Watts fit in at the Saints. With Reiwoldt, Kosi, Hamill, Gehrig, Blake.. Then also talls down back Maguire, Hudgton, Penny

They got alot of talls...

OK, that would mean this is not a good idea :p

I don't mind the idea, but we don't want to get too carried away with the "Ricciuto/Edwards/Goodwin are getting old" thing - we're not that desperate for young midfielders that a straight swap for Watts would be a good idea. You need Watts more than we need Gram, I expect.

Gram plus your first rounder? :p

No, seriously - how else are you going to replace Gehrig with any degree of certainty?

The big bloke with 11 Brownlow votes and 20 goals in 4 games that Riewoldt missed is the answer there.

A ruckman would then be the priority.

Just a bit of info for you guys to have a look at. Granted, he is an unknown quantity at AFL level but IMO so is Watts.

If we wanted something else maybe a second rounder?

I'm not a big fan of Gram, though some on Saintsational certainly are.

Sam Fisher had a great year and is a South Aussie to boot, not that we're likely to want to trade him, but that is where I would aim if I was Adelaide.

As for Pick 16 and Gram, I'd probably do that to.

The Goddard for Fevola rumours aren't going away either but I'd back Gehrig to play on.

I think he signed a month ago, not 100% sure.

TBH if he isnt signed the scenario of a Watts/Fisher deal looks pretty good ON PAPER.

How does Fisher rank with you guys?

Gehrig is set to retire and Luke Penny is about as good as me...They are never going to get a full season out of Koschitzke because his injury concerns are genetic and Aaron Hamill could hardly be considered a tall at 184cm.They would'nt be getting Sam Fisher I would think.A few weeks ago he virtually beat a full strength Adelaide forward line on his own and you don't see that sort of ability in young kids too often so they would have to be looking at something else.

No disrespect CC, but Gram and Fisher shouldnt even be a consideration. Both are pretty average and arent going to improve our team at all. If we are going to lose Watts or anyone else, we shouldnt accept average players for them, there is no benifit in it. We have plenty of Ladhams, Schubacks and Massies, surely we dont want to swap a promising young key forward for more of them.

Had a great year. Not sure if he played above himself or something but was good rebounding from 50m, racking up a lot of touches.

Would now be in our best 22 but not sure if the year was a fluke or not.
