This may be a little out of left field but I have watched a fair bit of this guy this season and he is a ready made player that could walk in and have an impact at most if not all AFL clubs in my opinion.

At 25 he is probably regarded as to old in the AFL which sounds funny even when you write it but you could possibly get 5-7 years out of him which is pretty good.

He could fit in nicely with us while we are developing these younger players. And its not as if another decent midfielder would go astray at the club.

On the other hand he may not be good enough?? He only really took his footy seriously a couple of years back.

Maybe not where our club is looking but I thought I would throw it up for your thoughts and and or opinions.

He has been looked at comprehensively over the years by recruiting staff from all clubs. The fact that he hasn't found his way onto an AFL List suggests that maybe he didn't have enough to offer and/or there were better assessed similar type players available.
When he was in the 18's age bracket many recruiters were of the opinion that he made too many errors and his kicking was suspect, I haven't watched him of late so I don't know what his skill level is like but the fact that he is now 25 suggests that maybe it's too late.

I believe AFL clubs should stop ignoring players of the 24 - 26 age bracket as if they are good enough for AFL then they should get a shot. I was very pleased to see Josh Head get another go at freo was rookie listed there in 2002 think delisted in 2004, redrafted in 2007 at (24) i think it was, however i do see him getting delisted again at years end. However in saying that the Eagles are focused on a new breed and anyone 21 or over would be considered too old for their recruiting plans. Even a good 26 year old can go on and play 100 games (5 seasons) which most AFL clubs want out of players.

I dont have a problem with anything you have said - the issue is the player himself. In Salecic's case his disposal is not good enough. If an older player was on the radar then Chad Cossom from Subi is head and shoulders above the others. His running and disposal skills are AFL standard and its a shame he was never drafted.

that maybe an option we look at but we are possibly going to win 8 games this season with youngsters and I ask do we need to bring in a 25 year old? or should we continue to develop the guys we have and the ones we draft this year?
