With B Smith out for the season and Lynch doing well up forward

Should West Coast promote him off the rookie list again as he maybe another alternative for CHB during the season

definetaly, and i'd suggest he'll almost certainly come onto the main list in place of Smith. From reports he's a very talented KP backman. I think with Glass (FB), Lynch (utility between CHB and Forward), Grayham (FB and CHB) along with Hunter and B Jones to take medium sized forwards our KP Back stocks look very solid, although i am somewhat concerned with the lack of depth.

After those 5 there isn't anyone there at all! let alone someone that can do a decent job.

I like Graham but he is really only suited against certain opponents. He is 195cm and lacks pace. We really need a fast, classy and athletic 192cm CHB in the Chad Cornes mould. Its something we really don't have anywhere on our list.

I think he should be promoted as insurance in case Glass is injured. He can't be any worse than Trent Carroll, surely.

Not quite, he played with reserves at South Fremantle and was voted best backman in 2003 before being picked up on our rookie list in 2004.

Under the new AFL rules if you only have one Veteran then you can nominate a rookie or two who can play at any stage during the season. I am not sure who we nominated but I don't think we need to promote someone to cover a long term injury.

Looked disproportionatly under-developed in his upper body versus his lower body muscle mass and definition last night. Be interested to see how he goes in a tight 1 on 1 with a physical player.

I'll let the Carroll slagging pass ... for now...

There's no point in promoting Graham now, as we can do it at any time we like due to Smith's unavailablity for the year. Basically if we decide to play him, we can promote him on a Tuesday to be selected the next weekend. However that means we have to pay him at the higher rate from then until the end of the season, so there's no point in doing so until he's actually required.

I would suspect that Zac Beeck would be in line for selection as a defender first anyway as he was playing back at East Perth in the latter part of '04.

yeah smart thinking Q.

Save us financially to keep him on the rookie list, but it also means we can promote someone else (i.e. Michael Embley) if they become required.
