Had his 34 on my jumper back in the mid 90's.
I think I was attracted to the fact his teammates always used to get him the ball in space (all makes a bit more sense in hindsight) and the fact he stood out like dog's balls with his red hair.

His handball to winmar in the dying stages against carlton at moorabin when the ball ended up with plugger rag dolling sos again. Unforgettable. One of best wins ive seen.

Bastard. Beat me to it. That handball went further and more accurately than any kick in his career.

Go to 26.50 and lap it up.

Remember the poor bugger lining up on the member's wing against Dipper one day.
Dean Rice did pretty well on Dipper in one of the Youtube videos on the pre-season thread. But a bit of a mismatch with poor old Jayson!

My first thought too … Moorabbin 89. Hadn’t beaten Carlton for 10 years … Daniels brilliant handpass to Winmar who finds Lockett in the last minute to hit the front. The replay simply does not do the atmosphere justice!

For anyone who wasn’t there, think the Schwarze goal vs Brisbane in 04 that blew the lid off Etihad, or Lenny’s goal from outside 50 in GF1.

Chills down the spine stuff!

Loved Jack Daniels. As has been said, great hand skills, foot skills not so much. As bad a kick as Joffa Cunningham. When to Sydney and THEN CAME BACK!!!

10.7 with one on the full. On the so-called Full Back of the Century.

Plugger was just unreal.

Loved Jack but has there been a worse kick in the game?

Look at this great video from 1988 (a rare win down in Geelong, the whole last quarter, worth a watch).

Jack has 2 shockers. His shot at goal at 31:40 after Plugger passed to him is diabolical. Then a minute later his left footer is awful too.

Beat me to it as well, it's that brilliant handball that released Nicky. He couldn't kick that far.

Very handy player, imagine if he could actually kick!!

You know what I like about that footage..as bad as those two kicks were Plugger never showed any frustration like some of the modern players do. He just got on with the next play!

Was there that day it was magic. A few stkilda city boys drove down to watch brett bowey a stkilda city boy himself in twos which was a draw from memory.

Ha ha, yeah, is pretty funny watching 2 blokes like Plugger and Nicky with the greatest skills you'll see having to share a team with ball-butchers like Daniels, Kourkoumelis etc. Like you said, back then they just got on with it... Rooey would go even more nuts playing with our 1988 midfield! :D

I was there too. 88 was an awful year with Plugger breaking an ankle and a wooden spoon but that day at Kardinia park showed the sort of footy we were capable of on our day.
