Posting this for the likes of Jod23 and the other Jebediah fans.

I went along to the Evelyn in Brunswick Street on Friday night to check them out. First band up were a US group called the Salteens - they were excellent, far too good to be put on first. They were sort of like a much better version of Klinger - great harmonies and very tight set, they are playing Wednesday night at the Punters Club, I'd recommend anyone who's got nothing on go check them out.

2nd up was Seconded (sp?), who were a mix of fuzz guitar and Moog synathiser, they were OK but all the songs sounded the same.

Jebs bounded on around midnight full of energy and launched into a song off the new album. I can't remember the exact setlist, but they played some old stuff and some new stuff, so every one went away happy.

Off Slightly Odway they played: Leaving Home, Harpoon, Jerks of Attention (last song before encore....went off), Invaders (last song of the night), Puck Defender and Teflon (my favorite...crowd went nuts...people were hanging off the rafters...literally! :D )

Off Someday Shambles they played: Please leave, Animal, and a couple of others, along with a B-side from one of the singles in the encore.

They also played 5 or 6 new tracks, didn't catch any of their names, but the new single was great, as was another song dedicated to Chris Cheney (something about televsion, it was a real cracker!). The new stuff is really promising, can't wait for the album early next year.

But a top gig! :)

Cheers for that GH, im glad they are playing some new stuff and some oldies, that television song is called Television Lies im pretty sure, havent heard it yet though. Its a ba side on the single Fall Down so it prolly wont be on the album. But im glad they rocked, although they always rock. That first band sounded interesting though..

Oh did they do there limp bizkit take off when they played Teflon?

I'm going to be pedantic and point out that the Salteens are actually from Canada. :) Great to see them back after their ace tour from last year.

Their CD "Short Term Memories", released last year on the Lost And Lonesome Recording Company, is ace. They've also got a new EP out as well.

Oops...my mistake! Ta Shinners...the CD was sold out by the end of the gig...might buy one if I make it to the show on Wednesday. Hey Jod, how come you get the CD before us...they said at the show it's not out until the new year.

Just take a short walk up Brunswick Street to PolyEster Records and the always friendly Chris and Anthony should be able to sort you out with a copy. :)
