Jed Walter and Calsher Dear almost identical stats from their first 3 years
Both very talented and athletic.
Both out of contract end of year.

One pick 3
One pick 56

Would the asing price be similar for them both if they wanted to leave?

Back to Jed?
2028 R1 for Jed + 2026 R2.

Lock it in, Larry.

Cant expect much more than a 2027 R2.

You might get a 13-20 this year if someone falls in love.

I think it's getting to a point with Jed where it would be a real risk chasing him.

You'd have to offer 5+ years at >800k plus trade good picks. Some of the deals being put out in the media are even higher.

He's in his 3rd year and shown few signs he'll be a star. And he needs to become that to justify the above. Yes, he was a good junior but highly drafted key forwards have a long history of being hit and miss.

Im not saying he wont make or be a good player but right now the risk/reward of trading for him is looking iffy.

Yep, I'd imagine his Live Price would be a 2027R2.

I struggle to see how you could accomodate other players of quality coming back when your cap is soon to be bulging?
Yep, it's tough, we'd probably try and consolidate picks to take a high level of talent on low wage. But I could see walter, humprey and rogers go, now humphrey is on a low wage so thats a huge reason why we want to keep him but there would be some expected cap space available. An experienced forward pocket or wing would be nice

Completely agree. From the outside looking in, it doesn’t seem as though he’s made any real progress, and I’d say his greatest weakness was his lack of footy smarts - seems to really struggle to find the football and have an impact on the game.
Also, in the game against Essendon his kicking for goal was completely diabolical - like barely hit his foot type stuff.

Could be a bust like Jack Lukosious, but in the same way may get a fat contract and cost a first round pick (probably more), like Jack.

LOl Big Nose Brady paid #19 for CCJ
he will hand deliver your 1st rounder before you blink
Can't. F/S crap. We'll potentially need another one if Harris' great form continues.

I'd happily do a 2028 R1 if we can't use that on Weitering or Wilson.

Sam Harris? He is not first round material right now dude what on earth
Not even close, there's an if/maybe. Had 21 + 3 on the weekend. IF he maintains this FORM and IF McCartney picks us, we might need two R1 selections. If, might, maybe, perhaps, conceivably.
