Jeep or Rav4

Depends on what you plan on using the car for.

If it's going to be used off road then I'd want the 4.0L Jeep over the Rav4, which has a poxy 2.4L with not much torque.

If it's not going off road then I'd want the Rav4, as the Wrangler has a thirst around town that David Boon would be proud of.

That being said, if I was buying a car that wouldn't see any action off road I wouldn't buy a 4WD or pseudo-4WD.

I will be using it off road occasionally but in the city more. I am leaning towards a Jeep at this stage.

They're both pretty gay.

If you are genuinely using it for off roading, but only occasionally, I'd go the Nissan X-Trail or even a Subaru.

Out of the RAV4 and Jeep (it is the Wrangler isn't it?), I'd got with the RAV. It's a safer buy; more reliable and I think more value for money. Jeeps are more antiquated.

Seriously though I'd go have a look at the Ford Escape/ Mazda Tribute (basically the same car) and the Nissan X-Trail. I don't think they're selling many of the Fords or Mazdas at the moment so you should be able to get a good deal. (They tend to fly under the radar)

You could also check out the used market: Ford Territories and Prados.
