Caroline Wilson said it very well today, weird of me to say but absolutely true. The club needs unity and focus in what it's doing and Jeff chiming in to feed your own ego is not helpful at all.

Christ, today I've agreed with Damien Barrett, Caroline Wilson, and Dermott Brereton. What is happening to the world?

For what it's worth, I want to see Melbourne turn things around. While I dislike Jeff Kennett, I think he would be the best man to lift your club out of the doldrums in my eyes.

I understand that he has sprouted a merger/relocation in the past, but remember if this were to happen it would need the overwhelming support of members (something I can't see happening).

Let's hope that you can reinvigorate your board, get a good coach (i.e Roos, Choco, etc.) and turns things around.

Am I an idiot for slowly turning towards having Jeff as president ? He wants to do this job and I listened to him on triple m and he sounds genuine , it's a free job , there is no reason to do this unless he really wants to and he genuinenly loves the challenge .. As he said himself , if there's a better option lets take it , but we could do worse than him

Kennett wants the AFL to move on melbourne and sack the entire board and put him in place as president with new board members.

is there any more info on this?
can't remember which article but apparently a group of explayers including those three as well as a few others were also after at least one seat on the board, for either Neitz or Paul Hopgood (if you can remember him).

here it is http://www.news.com.au/sport/afl/pe...culating-mr-wolf/story-fndv8pdq-1226665242294

It would appear Jeff Kennett's combative campaign has failed - who were his unseen and unheard of cohorts? - which means insurance heavyweight Geoff Freeman is the frontrunner to be chairman. However, another name emerged yesterday, managing director of finance firm IOOF, Christopher Kelaher, who is being approached by a group of former players including David Neitz, Paul Hopgood, Anthony McDonald, David Schwarz, Anthony Ingerson and Andrew Leoncelli, a former Demons director.
MCC committeeman Will Fowles has also been involved in talks.
Group members have had discussions with McLardy and Mr Jackson, and are keen on securing at least two board positions, one for Kelaher and one for either Neitz or Hopgood.
The former players want to help the club and Mr Jackson will give them an audience.
