1 year contract via psd draft or even late pick in National draft, and the promise of a ruck coaching position later on. Wouldn't cost much and it would give Graham, Putt and Cartlege more time.
He would be a great pick up in my opinion, wouldn't cost us a thing and would add valuable experience to our young Rucks.

Remember he was ahead of Simmonds for the Vic ruck position.

Agreed, but we would have to ditch Cartledge (no loss imo) as we have enough Rucks already.

wow you are very smart, lets get a player who struggles to make the side of a wooden spoon team. F**k i'm sick of people suggesting to trade picks, we have done this enough. Cousins is the only psd option.

No. Never. No brains. No awareness of body (rucks like a disjointed giraffe) and is a cat.

On the field has all the passion & ferocity of Kane Johnson on sleeping tablets.

Plays like syrup drying in the sun.

did I suggest to trade picks????????????? I said a late pick up i the National draft of PSD.... if Melbourne delist him then we can get him for nothing... try reading peoples posts before question their intelligence,

He would be good to have at the club just to help the development of Putt and co.
Jeff White was preferred Ruck-man for Victoria this Year. The fact that Melbourne have indicated that he is no longer required suggests to me that Cameron Scwab might be bring Warnock with him.

If we did pick him up, I couldn't see him lasting for more than a year.
Is a similar player to Simmo in that he isnt that tall, but tries to use his mobility around the ground.
I would still prefer to pick up a kid ruckman in the ND, as he would be an exact replica of simmo and they would both retire at the same time as well.

If we had absolutely no one ready at present to back up Simmo I'd say yes, but Patto, Cartledge and Graham are all big enough now not to need 'looking after' by a more established player. Reckon we've got enough ruck insurance, a genuine young first ruck prospect would be more the go I reckon.

Nut - l wont give you the spray others have, purely because l thought this through the other day as well and gave it serious consideration.

Would prefer not... l think its a pointless argument really anyway, with Carlton keen and they will be ahead of us in the PSD.

Jeff White, although won an AA, wasnt the greatest ruckman going around anyway. He's too small to teach ruckman that we ideally have or want to recruit the way we want them to play.

So, pass.

To be honest... neither.

My suggestion would be to bite our tonguew for another 12months. Go in with Simmo, Patto and Co for one last year. When we need that "final piece of the puzzle" to have a crack at the flag, you go all out.

You dont go all out on ****ing Robert Warnock... paaaaalease!!

Would rather get White for nothing for 1 or 2 seasons rather than Warnock, who will be way too expensive

thats what I'm getting at. One more year for Angus and putt to develop And they would learn shit loads of White as well.

He is alot better than cartledge and we will probably senior list him. White has 1-2 years left and in my opinion could do for us what jason ball did for sydney. Came to them as a 28 year old and played 5 seasons and 90 games. White is going to be 32 by the start of next year but could be handy for 2 years if we genuinely back our prospects of doing some damage in the finals in '09 and '10

You serious? The guy has been a premier running ruckman (not only rucks well but links around the ground) for 10 years. Whether we should draft him is another question, but your assessment of him is clearly ridiculous. Give the guy some credit.

if the club thinks patto, gus and putt will make it but need 1-2 years more development i think if we can get him for free (psd or pick 100 like st.kilda did last year) then why not

ok....

White for noting or

Draft Picks for Warnock?????

What would you all prefer?
They aren't the only options. If they were, I'd go for Warnock because he fills a need that White doesn't. He's tall enough to win taps and young enough to have plenty of improvement in him. White is a similar style to Simmonds in that he is a shortish ruckman and wouldn't really be adding anything new to the team. White relies on his athleticism and he has lost a fair bit of that over the last couple of seasons.
