To all of the doubters who wrote off Lycett after last year, and to everyone who thought we lost out on the trade of Jetta for Sinclair, id take great pleasure in creating this thread title. Lycett with confidence and fully fit is hands down a better player than Sinclair. And with Jetta adding his silky skills and pace to our midfield, our team looks a lot better for offloading Callum.

Too early to call. Lycett kicked some howlers (and btw was already on our list), Jetta is flashy, but goes missing a lot, as he has his whole career

Sort of an inaccurate thread title, dont ya think?
Should be Jetta+Lycett > Jetta+Sinclair or Sinclair+Lycett.

In any case i've never had an issue with Lycett. Jetta was the real concern.
Who knows, it might work out for everyone involved.

Thread very inaccurate. The reality and the way to look at it is Jetta + Lycett vs Rosa + Sinclair. Im very much of the opinion we only lost rosa due to gaining Jetta and the way our end of season conversation went with him. For our list structure and best 22 on field i think lycett + jetta are better than sinclair + rosa but it would have been great if we could have kept rosa on the list.

its not very inaccurate. Sinclair was surplus to our needs. People were bagging out Lycett way too much last year. And Sinclairs form was nothing special. Even yesterday in the crowd our fans were quick to jump on any Lycett mistake. I just dont understand the hate he gets.

Jetta in our midfield is like a valve that releases all the pressure. Our players look for him in a chain of handpasses because as soon as Lewis gets it he can size up his options with time and if anyone tries to tackle he can burn them off. Rosa didnt have that ability.

Lycett gets hate??? Ive always known hes a better player than Sinclair; but last night was the first game ive seen him dominate physically. This bloke is seriously hard at the contest. We scream and scream for somebody to stand up in the clinches; and weve found him!! Big call, but this bloke could be a future club captain....IF.....he keeps up that standard of attack on body and ball! Cant you guys see how big and strong we look with him NOT Nicnat leading the charge.I think the Eagles have a big opinion of this bloke and I know its only one game but phew.....

Lycett was good v Richmond .I really loved his game . Sinclair was better than Lycett last year . It is just Hope at the moment that Lycett builds on this . Jetta was silky . We Hope he is consistent . It was 1 good game by that pair .
Lycett is 1000 times better than Giles so it would be sad to us all if he loses his spot .
At the moment the future of Lycett and Jetta looks good in our setup . Certainly better than combination of Sinclair and Rosa .

Sinkers didn't have OP last year so he had that going for him. I wish Cal well at the Swans though. He tried his heart out for us last year.

Lycett has played well the past fortnight. A shame he got sucked in by Tyrone but I guess Scotty had worked out Tyrone was never going to get near the ball for an in play square up :D

Jetta and Lycett probably the two biggest negatives this evening for the Eagles, while Sinclair was among Sydney's better performers.

Jetta - 16 disposals (1 contested), 9 turnovers

Lycett - 5 frees against, 5 turnovers

Sinclair - 21 disposals (12 contested), 7 clearances

Really? You weren't watching Nelson or Masten?

Hard to compare Sinclair (solo ruck) to Lycett (rucking with Naitanui). Lycett needs to do more up forward but it would have been close if he had been the only ruck.

As for Jetta, I thought Jetta was pretty good most of the game, a bunch of the turnovers were just as much about our F50 disorganization/lack of targets as anything else.

Jetta's disposal was uncharacteristically poor but his game wasnt bad relative to what you normally see from him. He was actually out there trying 5x harder than you'd normally see from him. I think it's a positive sign for him and the team.

Sinclair has been good at Sydney and we had ruck cover at the time.

Lycett helped us to a flag and netted us pick 20ish.

Jetta helped us to a flag and was just named Best Clubman, playing a vital role in mentoring two of our most impressive young forwards.

As big of a win/win trade as you’ll ever see.
