My first thoughts too. It is a disgrace that it has taken this long. He almost should have been one of the original legends IMO.
I hate to be seen as supporting anything Collingwood with a signature like mine but it did take them nearly 10 years to make Jock McHale a Legend. While on signatures and stuff (which we are not) - gotta love that Pic of yours Old Dark

What are you talking about?

What dont you get?
1) That the Hall of Fame took 10yrs to make JM a legend and therefore we should not be surprised that it took them so long to do the same for Jezza?
2) That I fancy ODN's avatar

I actually attended the Hall of Fame dinner and it was a magnificent night. Crown and the AFL certainly know how to put a great night on. A couple of points of interest.
1) My understanding is the AFL may have put the Jezza induction off until this year to coincide with the 150 year anniversary. As Mike Williamson and Mark Robinson stated, Jezza is probably the most popular inductee to the legends status of all time and the AFL desperatley need some good publicity at the moment after some poor press last year and while looking to expand the game in the next few years. You just needed to see the number of big names, dying to congratulate him on his induction, to understand the way he is respected by his peers.
2) Speaking of using the night to raise the profile of the AFL, the umpire inducted, while providing a great contribution to the game, was from Brisbane. Looked like a bit of a token induction to me.
3) Spoke to Ratts and told him I was thoroughly enjoying seeing the Blues get a few wins on the board and get a bit of that arrogance back. He said "We've only played 7 games but we're getting there"
4) Spoke to Fev, said he is really enjoying his football at the moment. Said we're all loving watching him.
5) Spoke to D. Cloke and Camron's op was a fairly standard proceedure and he should be back in about 2 weeks.
6) Bradles is wrapped to be involved with the club.
7) Former non-Carlton player previously involved with some work at the club (won't mention any names) said that while Gibbs is a really great kid, he reckon the Blues made a mistake not taking Leunberger in the draft. Interesting. Also said Hammer is still very very very raw.
8) Spent some time with Glen Archer. He said he loves watching Fevola play. Lovely guy.
9) Spoke to Eddie McGuire - made some smart comment about Fitzroy having a better record than Carlton, I asked them what the Pies have done since he's been there then walked off.
10) Took a slash between Roughead and C. Brown, I reckon I had them both covered.

Hmmm, sworn to secrecy? Let the speculation begin!

That's Eddie, limiting his thinking to timeframes to suit. If Fitzroy have a better record than us and we have the Pies in terms of flags, does that mean he think the Roys are better than Collingwood too?

Deserved more praise for this line. :D
