Finally finished this 4000 piece Naval Battle. Hardest puzzle I’ve done, not sure I’ll ever redo this such was the difficulty.

For a change in pace we found this at the National Library bookshop. Trevor Dickinson is a well-known local artist with an intense interest in the "iconic" Canberra bus shelters. We have other books and puzzles of his, and his Canberra Bus Shelter mug is as seen on ABC News Breakfast ;). 1000 pieces, good colour separation, unfortunately the top left corner piece seems to have been missing on opening.

Reminds me of Jeffrey Smart's urban works.

Nah. Frame it.😊 well done!
If it was black and white I would frame it as it would fit the theme of paintings in my puzzle room. I have a shipwreck , French steam train crash and paddle steamers all black and white.

That puts to shame me completing my 1000 piece Harry Potter Xmas puzzle tonight 😂

I'll take photos in the morning

Does anyone here redo puzzles? The last thing I’d want to do is the same puzzle again. I don’t see the point.

I haven't redone any 500 piece or 1000 piece ones

I have redone some of my mini, post card size ones to test myself - and as I've started to think they could be interesting to put in small photo frames and the decorate the house, I'll likely redo them

We redo Christmas ones each year, but generally not other puzzles. We pass them on to family members and when everyone's done them we take them to lifeline for their book fair.

That said, we still somehow still have a cupboard full...

Yep I redo my favourite puzzles but I won’t redo that last one even though it was an awesome picture

I am about to frame my first puzzle and wonder if all on this thread could give me any advice on glues and techniques. Watched a few youtube videos and it doesn't look like rocket science.

The last puzzle I framed was a 1500 piece Ravensburger. I found a 60x80 frame on Amazon that fit perfectly. So perfectly, in fact, that i didn't glue the pieces. I could move the puzzle in a single piece onto the backing board and put the frame over it. This wouldn't work if you used a frame without a glass/perspex front piece. This probably works better with Ravensburger puzzles as they tend to be close and tight fitting.

When I have glued puzzles I put a board over and under them to flip them over then just glue butchers paper to the back using a basic paper glue or glue stick. Then you can trim the paper and mount in the frame.

I guess you could use something like wallpaper paste but you'd have to be careful it didn't seep through to the front.

Personally I've found that those puzzle glue products don't really work (especially the ones you apply to the front of the puzzle). Perhaps I'm just not using them properly.

What puzzle glues have you used?

I've never glued a puzzle, but reading various Aussie FB puzzle groups there's various discussions about that side of things there

Some glue, others use the widest blue painters tape on the back to hold puzzles together

Others mention using those contact sheets - I think Ravensburger sells them

The Ravensburger puzzle conserver stick comes to mind (this is one applied to the front of a puzzle). I think we also had some puzzles where glue was included with the puzzle, I don't think you see that much any more.

Just started glueing two puzzles. Done the front of both and the back of one. Will do the back of the other one later today.

I have seen a mention of using multiple glueing layers.

Any comments?
