Who was better, more influence and enjoy listening to?

Jimi for me.

The answer to all 3 questions:

1. Jimi.

2. Jimi.

3. Jimi.

Abum ratings for comparison:

1. Electric Ladyland.
2. Are You Experienced?
3. LZ 1.
4. Axis: Bold As Love.
5. LZ 2.
6. LZ 4.
7. Band Of Gypsys.
8. LZ 3.

This is sort of like comparing Black Sabbath to say someone like Iron Maiden, Metallica or some other heavy metal band for me.

Black Sabbath influenced more people than any of the other metal bands.

Yeah off track & all that but Hendrix was the same i think.... don't get me wrong Led Zeppelin are a hall of fame band & were fantastic musicians, but Hendrix has had some sort of influence on every guitar player in the world.

You cannot compare them, I chose not to vote but they would both be in my top 5 favourite artists.

Led Zeppelin by a bee's ********. I was not going to vote originally cause it's such a hard question and you can argue in either direction and not be wrong.

Better - Hendrix was more talented, but the song-writing of Led Zep made them easier to listen too. Some of Hendrix's stuff just goes "too far" if you get what i mean. you sit there and listen to it and just don't know what to think....

As for influence, both are about equal. There's not many more influential artists than either.

JH invented distorted heavy guitar that sounded like 3 at once. Others tried it but just sounded like noise (Pete Townsand).Every note hendrix played flowed in to the next in heavy screaching symphony.

But he couldn't have done it without his drummer and bass player.

Page was the same.He could not have played most Zep songs without Bonham and John-Paul Jones. Its apples and oranges.

Zeppelin invented modern hard rock. Love em:thumbsu:

Except for maybe the Beatles or Elvis Presley :thumbsu:

You can't really vote here. Both of them have produced some rock classics.

I'd say that the Zep were better but just. I base this solely on the fact that the Led made more albums. It's not Jimi's fault that he had made less albums, that's just how life is.

Zep

i love both dearly but zeppelin are my favourite ever band, i think both jims are equal in guitar ability but zeppelin have great vocals, great guitars and a hard driving rhythm

...and the greatest rock drummer that ever was, is and will be...

Havent spent as much time listening to Jimi as perhaps i should have, but i just dont get the same amount of feeling from his music as what some people i know and fully respect do.

But when i listen to Zeppelin, it sends me to another place and makes me want to day dream.

And there are very few bands and drummers inparticular that inspire me to want to be a better musician than what Zeppelin and Bonham do.

Soundgarden are very close though.
