Joel has copped a fair bit from supporters over the years and has often been labelled soft. If the way he has played the last season and a bit, often backing into packs, hasn't dispelled that, then the way he came out tonight with a facial injury and was one of our better players should put any doubt about his courage to bed. Tony Shaw on 3aw spent the night in the Richmond box and after the game interviewed Wallace, and both were disappointed the Richmond players didn't show more emotion after Bowden kicked a goal. He may have his flaws but I don't think being soft is one of them.

thats a very accurate assumption. Playing with a broken cheekbone and playing with the intensity he had was impressive after his goal he ran back to his position with no one coming to him, not impressive.

We were silly to risk him.

But yes, he does have balls.

He had to play, he had to get back into it... he had to, cos he was able and wanted to! It would have taken a massive knock to rebreak or move the two plates... He wouldn't have played if he didn't think he could, or the medical staff thought for one second that he couldn't.

You can't cut his balls off (i.e. rest him) and expect him to return the same man!

I was watching Hodge closely today and I reckon he is a clone.They play the same role,smart,brave in the air with traffic bearing down,uncanny timing,wicked left leg and leather poisoning.

I agree.

Hodge = Bowden.

Didnt Bowden play a dozen games with a broken hand?

Far from soft.
