just heard today that joel perry was delisted from north, there had been rumours we had been talking to north about him during trade week but never officially offerd anything, we now have kent kingsley trainen with us and we have shown interest. Who should we pick up? IMO its a no brainer with joel perry but being richmond we have no idea who we will pick up lol

Don't know if Perry is confirmed delistment just yet.

Anyway we were linked to Perry, Thornton, J.Cloke and every other 21-23 year old potential CHB in the league. We got Polak. That would make getting Perry far less likely. Having Polak, Schulz, Hall and Perry all able to play CHB but too slow off the mark for FB hardly helps much.

Kingsley (although rubbish) can play forward. Can take the double-team away from Richo. Is a 'proven' 40-goal player which would be handy if Brown isn't right to play from round 1.

As Patty Bowden showed. It is not just about talent, it is also about your tole in the team. At the Dogs they played him as a CHF and he was rubbish. Played as a loose defender he was OK. Kinglsley is a better fit for the vacant role in our team than Perry.

Agree whole-heartedly with Weaver. Perry never set the world on fire at the Kangaroos and couldn't even work his way into a weakish backline when the team was struggling.

Kingsley, on the other hand, could fill a slight void up forward. The loss of Stafford raises a few questions and I think there is a need for a strongly built forward.

But personally, if the club is to give people chances, I'd be going for Pods over both of those. He has been far more impressive than the other two (when they played VFL football) and he is bloody strong. Pods has smashed Perry on numerous occasions, so I don't like hearing Pods is large and slow, when he has proven to be faster and more powerful than Perry - a guy who the club considering trading for. If we what Stafford's loss opens in the team, really it is a strong marking option up forward, who did lead to the ball sometimes. Defensive pressure from the forwards has been a problem at the Tiges and I don't think Stafford it was Stafford's strong point. I think Pods fits the body-on-body mould more than Kingsley, who prefers to lead to the ball and who I don't think has particularly strong hands.

Now, I may be advocating Podsy's cause, but it is simply because I have been a VFL fan for a while and I'd like to see if he can raise his bar. He has dominated in the VFL (which is a big drop in standard from AFL) but you can only beat who you play against and there aren't too many other blokes who deserve a shot more than him.

too much big words and sense for your good self?
Weaver is spot on, we don't need Perry, we don't need Kingsley either but if we had to have one of them Kingsley is going to be of more use

Neither unless Perry can hold down FB.

Polak, Hall, Schulz & the Bowdens(if needed) can cover CHB.

Richardson, Brown, Schulz, P Bowden & Hughes cover the key forward roles.

Weaver's point re FB is very valid IMO. Gaspar is about the size of it unless Moore or McGuane really comes on this year.:(

Personally I feel it's the midfield that needs strengthening fastest and that means taking the best mids available in the draft at 13 & 26.

Keep filling the list with kids Terry!

And yet your able to concisely do it in less then 1 paragraph.

Kudos to ya

Heard last night that Kingsley will definitely be at Richmond next year. Waste of time and money IMO. Bloody hopeless. Should be playing full-forward for Bell Park in the Geelong District Footy League.

We need defenders incase Polak fails to peform. We don't need an inconsitant fowrard that at best kicks 3-4.

#1 TF

HOW many guys in our team kick three goals a game?

Richo and who????????????????????????????????????

If we want to start posting winning scores, we need goalkickers. Kingsley's 40 plus a year would make him our second most productive forward....and by some ways!

brown, richo, schulz, petts, hughes, mcguane, patto <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< my grandma<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< my dead grandpa<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Kent Kingsley

lol at being a club trying to rebuild their list and only having 5 picks in the best draft of all time never mind the fact you might use a pick on a 28 year old failure at 2 clubs :thumbsu:

no wonder im excited like the rest of you

you do realise that you just said that Kent Kingsley is better don't you?
The symbal i think your looking for is ">" meaning greater then

i would prefer perry over kinsley, and im not even that negative to the concept of getting old Kent road down to ol punt road.

in all honesty - i'd prefer we delist jackson or moore possibly and pick up both - perry seems to have left a very strong impression on the north faithful. does anyone here have a strong belief that either jackson or moore will be a revelation next year? having Perry will also put alot more pressure on Polak to get fit and work at getting better, cos at this point - he is still looking at walking straight into our side without earning it, as our backline is extremely weak in the KKP department

Only 12 Richmond players have ever kicked more goals than Kingsley. Don't sell him short.

just because kingsley had a crap year doesnt make him a crap player. we should be looking at a player that will likely deliver 2 goals a game. we need players like that. how many richmond listed players have an average of 2 goals a game? richo, brown and ? no one methinks. thats 40 goals a year and no small contribution from a third string forward. i for one hope we get him, he has alot to prove.

He kicked 9 goals last year. 9 goals!
He's 29, how much better do you think he'll get????
In a footballer's career there's a downward slope and Kent's brakes have burnt off.:thumbsd:

He kicked 8 of the nine against the roos and the first 3 on perry within 5 minutes. If he wasn't shifted KK could have kicked 12. In regards to who is better, i rest my case. Having said that your mad if u take either
