John Reid
As coach of the Crows Neil Craig’s job is held accountable by wins and losses, as captain and on field leader of the clubs Mark Ricciuto, Simon Goodwin and the players in the squad; there place on the list is held accountable by on field performances. Steven Trigg and Bill Sanders job with in the club is held accountable by profits and losses statements (among other things) but how is John Reid held accountable?
His job at the Adelaide Football Club is General Manager of Football Operations and he has been in this position since 1995 (just before Robert Shaw was appointed IIRC), so I ask the question how he is job performance held accountable but more importantly what the hell does he do?
This season the on field performances have not been good enough and I wonder if this stems from a few people off the field. A few people with in AFC may be getting too comfortable with in their roles and complacency may have set in, its time for a shake up.
I heard a rumour a few months back that Bill Sander maybe considering handing over the position of chairman at the end of the season. Club CEO Steven Trigg is doing a fine job and would not be readily replaced and the same would go for Neil Craig. With a new captain and potentially a new chairman is it time we also looked at a new general manager of football operations.
I believe that it’s time to move John Reid on and appoint a new GM of football operation but whom? My suggestion would start and stop with Nigel Smart

But I do believe it is a great question that needs to be asked.
