Graham Johncock, Adelaide Crows, has been charged with a level three engaging in rough conduct offence against Cameron Hitchcock, Port Adelaide, during the second quarter of the round 17 match between the Adelaide Crows and Port Adelaide, played at AAMI Stadium on Sunday July 25, 2010.

In summary, due to his five-year good record, he can accept a one-match sanction with an early plea.

The incident was assessed as reckless conduct (two points), medium impact (two points) and high contact (two points). This is a total of six activation points, resulting in a classification of a level three offence, drawing 325 demerit points and a three-match sanction. He has an existing five-year good record, which reduces the penalty by 25 per cent to 243.75 points and a two-match sanction. An early plea reduces the sanction by 25 per cent to 182.81 points and a one-match sanction.

Are you kidding me? That is an absolute joke.:thumbsd: It is easier picking lotto numbers than predicting what the MRP will do each week. We better challenge this. The fact it originally got 3 games, just wow.

It's no joke!!!

If you look in the Good, Bad, Ugly Topic I mentioned it yesterday, and I'm not at all surprised it was looked at given the MRP's track record this year.

On at least 2 occassions yesterday Stiffy's attack was clearly on opposition players moreso than the pill and given the current environment in the AFL it's not a smart move!!!

This is ridiculous. They get so carried away with the points system. It should just be: "is this a soft offence?" yes? Don't suspend him. If it weren't for a rampant case of hendomania I'd stop watching footy altogether

is this the front on bump near the boundary line? it looked like a forceful bump, but aren't players allowed to bump anymore? it didn't look like it made high contact (the bump itself might have surprised him and thus the head flung back with the contact to the chest)...
i think they should contest the charge, as a free kick wasn't even rewarded and it was in play.

I'll be dissapointed if we don't contest having just seen the replay. Didn't even make contact with the head.

The more I read the wash up of yesterdays game, the more I consider we really did get intimidated out of this game in the media in the week leading up, most obvious was the josh carr tough man stuff!

What a crock.

If it was ANY other player than Hitchcock who weights about 26kg, they would've stood their ground. And it wasn't even a free kick at the time so how the **** can it be a suspendable offence?

Watch the incident closely and you'll be grateful Stiffy didn't get more than he did. IMO he did make contact with the head.

I thought at the time that it didn't look good and seeing it again in slow-mo, he was gawn!!

You can't do what Stiffy did any more - not unless you want to be suspended.

I'm happy that he only got the 1.

Gah - gotta cop this one I think. Stiffy was looking for the body far too often and got caught out it seems. love that he was looking for it.. but would have loved him to have led the way in getting to the ball first which is what we really needed.!

Yep, agree :thumbsu:

He tried on several other occasions to take Port players out but luckily he missed.

Typical Johncock playing like shit in showdowns. He can't handle the Port crowd.
