The fact that he witnessed the toss of the coin then he kicked the ball 50m in the wrong direction from the first bounce really proves he's not very smart out on the field. He's so predictable when he has the ball. He will handbull to the obvious player in a situation and the opposition will cause the turnover. He's the type of player who will slip over at a crucial moment or fumble the ball under no pressure. His skills are mediocre and he turns the ball over too often. I would have definately played Polo on Stevens from the very start. I'm sure polo would have prevented many of the 2nd half clearances by Carlton from the centre and that would have been the difference in winning and losing. Our club overrates him by a mile and he should be a bench player at best

all these things you talk about apply to pretty much our entire team... thats what the real worry is....

Johnson did a top job on Stevens last time, so can't blame TW for going with the same plan again. Polo was doing well elsewhere too.

Johnson's kick was very Steve Harmison-esque...

Still hate Carlton. Lots.

Polo is a much more accontable player. I think he would have worn Stevens like a glove. He would have roughened that soft receiver out of the game early imo

this happened all through the game yesterday. But it wasnt just him. I agree with your comments about him but realistically it spreads right throughout our team this sort of rubbish..

MT johno wasn't like that when he first came over,Actually he was quite skilful
but it doesn't take long for the brain to rot when you play for our team.I swear someone put a curse on us many years ago.Maybe we should pay helen D'amico a visit because our boys haven't recovered since her naked romp in the 1982 grand final.

LOL at the only clearance we win for the game going 50m the wrong way, great way for the captain to lead his side into the new season.

Polo would have done ok on Stevens, but that just frees up Murphy, who knows what would have happened then. Next week Polo should go to Goodes.

I think we should throw Raines into the middle. Leave him there and watch him become a super midfielder. I'd like to see Hartigan in there too and left there and I think the rewards will come. We need that grunt he provides

I don't think that's a bad idea because when I watch him play it's like turning back the clock 25 years sometimes. I'd love to see him become an elite centreman like his old man.

It only makes sense why would you waste a booming kick like his. He's so lucky he inherited that from his old man.:thumbsu:

the word sense does not exist down at tigerland..
we have it here.. thank god for that:thumbsu:

Yeah wallace has no idea really,if you got kid who kick it 50 plus metres regularly why would waste him in a back pocket?.I'd love see geoff down at training teaching his son the finer points of playing the centre and then we'd solve that problem at least.

i called wallace today and asked him if i could play this week.. he said yes so look out for a short chubby indian guy running around.. thats me!!!

I'm telling ya, put Raines and Hartigan in the midfield and the rewards will come

Don't know about hartigan his skills are quite poor but you've got me very interested about raines in the midfield that would be superb.:thumbsu:
