Another little w@nky Idgaf footy story but bears some relevence ...

Remember one year down at my local footy club we recruited three big "no heart" money men to try and "buy" a flag ... LMAO @ how many local footy clubs tried that and failed .

Anyway ... you could count how many times they trained all year on one hand ... Saturday night they were showered and in thier cars and orf by 5.30 ... real team men .

Will admit that the three of them were quite handy but hardly stars ...but you know what , whatever happened on Saturday night when the coach was handing out the awards , there was barely a game when the three of them did not feature in the best players/and or best on ground ... no matter how ordinary they played .We had incentives back in those days . $100 for BOG $50 for second .. so on and so forth .

If anyone tries to debunk the thoery that B&F`s at footy clubs aren`t "tainted" in anyway they are kidding themselves ... because they are

Not really sure what i am trying to say there but if you have a team largely loaded with "performance type" contracts ... sometimes certain blokes just don`t poll well ... if you know what i mean .

Maybe KJ does not have a performance based contract ;)

Its not just the way it it. The Swans became a premiership side when their SUPPORTERS campaigned for Paul Roos to be appointed coach. The rest is history

Nothing to do with laying the foundations with 5 finals campaign in 6 years under Eade, followed by 2 finals campaigns under Roos. I think the fact that they have been in the finals in 9 of the last 11 year might have something to do with them being a premiership chance again this weekend.

Selective memory.

A whole lot may have beens if Roos wasnt appointed as coach.

Roos was appointed coach through member and supporter pressure. Not the club administrators first choice.

Those are the facts. If the club didnt pay heed to the supporters and made their own coaching choice, its speculation what they may have gone on to do.

This happens at every suburban footy club. Coaches best mate gets the award. Coaches son gets the award. Give it to this guy in case he upset and wants to leave.

And the point is that the Richmond footy club is run exactly as if it is like every suburban footy club throughout Victoria.

Kane Johnson is not our B&F. Simmonds is.

Bloody Oath. The biggest a ss licker wins the B&F. Not the best player. Great way to run a footy club

LMAO@Johnson being a better player than Simmonds or Richo

:) ALL abour priorities, ladies and gentlemen.

Who gives a toss about who is our best and fairest and who isn't.

It's a TEAM game. It's about PREMIERSHIPS.

Kane Johnson may not have been as good as the term "best and fairest" applies, but certainly nowhere near as "ordinary" as you 1980 likes to make out.

Irrelevant anyway!

It's about TEAM success.

Greg Tivendale being our b&f, or Jeremy Humm being our b&f wouldn't worry me, as long as Johnson and Wallace were holding up the premiership cup.

95% of footballers don't give a brass razoo about individual accoldaes and the 5% who do play at Collingwood!

But I just dream of us winning a premiership in two years time, logging on to Big Footy two weeks after the game (once I had finished my 14 day bender) to read some comment from 1980 about how Johnson isn't worthy of hoisting the premiership cup!!!

Admit it 1980, it's personal.

Let go your grudge boy and channel your aggression into something a little more positive!

No one cares who the best and fairest is....can anyone tell me who won it in 1997, or 1986, or 2001?

But I bet we all know the mighty Tigers won the premiership in 1980 and 1974 and 73 etc...:)

LMAOO... lets face it Roo , it`s all we have

The point is none of those "ring ins" polled well in the B&F , local boys who were paid nothing won those because the locals did the votes week in week out .

Clearly from our side of the fence there were 2 or 3 others who were way better than KJ this year but look at the result .

All depends on the perspective of the people giving the votes .

As 1980 says , in most cases these results should be taken with a grain of salt and a wry smile .

In this case , i think sugar is the kid in the class sitting up straight in the front row , arms straight out , listening intently to what the teacher has to say , with a lovely granny smith sitting on the front desk whilst Richo , Simmo and Rainesy are f..king around up the back shooting spit balls at each other and trying to look up the girls dresses

If Kane Johnson lifts the cup in 2 years, people like me have no reason to complain about him.

If you think that's even remotely possible, you're part of the same hopeless mob that thought Danny Frawley was a good coach and anyone complaining about him was a feral supporter.

Johnson as our club captain = Frawley as a coach

:) ALREADY had his hand on two premiership cups!!

Hard to say he wasn't an integral part of those successes too.

Member of the Crows Team of the (first)Decade.

And now, a best and fairest!:)

So now your a Crows supporter are you Goldie? You feel the need to change your club colors just to support Kane Johnson winning a B&F?

His 2006 was better than his 2005 becuase he's not good enough to do anything more than tag.

Not good enough to be B&F.
