WTF yourself Scam......When Haggdorn came out in February and said that Barlow would not be back a quickly as what Freo fans would like due to complications with his injuries, this site went into meltdown.

That's the part I though most people on this board were annoyed about. It's also something that has since been proven to be wrong.

Good point and you are 100% correct Prattsta.

This all stemmed from the "supposed fact" that Michael Barlow was apparently scheduled to have his metal plate removed before Christmas and he could not begin running again until this had happened.

He had the metal plate removed in mid-January, approximately 4 weeks later than expected. (perhaps his orthopedic surgeon was still on Christmas break).

He then required 8 weeks of physio and light running before he could resume full training with the squad.

Haggers then wrote that story surrounding the delay which would push his reurn back a month or so, a story to which the club denied.

Haggers was then forced to explain himself on the Bob Maumill show on 6PR the Sunday after the story was published. His response was that Michael's come back was taking a little longer than planned as they were carefully managing the injury after previous complications with injuries to Nathan Brown and Michael Voss.

He also clarified that Michael's return was taking a little longer than what most Fremantle fans had hoped, which was the basis of his story.

He also acknowledged copping a pasting from Fremantle supporters on a certain web site.

Harry Reems these are the quotes from the article that annoyed most people. I'd link to the article but since it's on SNF, that can't be done. Also, I can't be bothered finding one of the other versions on the HS, AGE or PerthNOW websites.

Barlow is understood to have received a disappointing medical report on his recovering broken left leg from his orthopaedic surgeon Michael Wren.

it is believed Barlow's surgeon is troubled with a slower than expected healing rate in his broken bones.

Recent assessment and scans have shown slow growth and further surgery has not been ruled out.

Kim Hagdorn
14th December 2010

No direct sources, no quotes, no facts, nothing. It was a rubbish article, that took a deliberately negative point of view.

The article also had a photoshopped picture of Barlow on the Alter-G Anti Gravitational Treadmill.

The 'further surgery' Hagdorn was talking about was the scheduled surgery to remove the plate that had been inserted. It was scheduled for late December but went ahead very early in January. Not a big deal for elective surgery over the Christmas break I would've thought.

As an aside, Hagdorn is also the guy who said Barlow could be back after 10 weeks from the initial break and play a part in the 2010 finals.

why listen to another game then?

"Earth to Shaymuhz.......The lines to 6PR's box were down so I could not listen to the Freo v Lions game...repeat....could not listen to the Freo v Lions game................

I then had the choice of listening to 720 6WF or the Swans v Pies game back on 6PR. I listened to 720 6FW for one quarter then changed back to 6PR who were forced to call the Swans v Pies game due to technical difficulties at Subiaco Oval."

Nothing to see here Shaynuhz......move on please....................................

yeah i got that..my question though was, if you listen to the radio for injury updates, decision clarifications etc, how would have listening to the swans-collingwood game provided you with any insight on the game you were watching?

if you couldnt follow that no wonder you cant watch a game without someone having to tell you whats going on

One thing that pisses me off when at the football is the person with the radio who decides it is their mission to announce to the world how much time is left, or who won the other games that I was planning on watching on replay when I got home. Fine if you want to know that stuff yourself, but keep it to yourself. Had this guy in my section me who would scream "50 seconds left", "10 seconds left", etc. Nice way to partly ruin the end of a nail-biter.

In all the hundreds of games I have been to, I have never once even considered I might like to listen to the radio. One of the secondary attractions of watching live is removing yourself from all media forms and commentary. Just watch the damn game!

Yeah, sorry about the smart-arsed reply Shaymuhz, I miss read your question, which was a valid one too BTW.

My point was that the commentary on the other channel was that bad in my opinion that I went without listening to the game being called and opted to listen to the other match instead.

That was just my opinion as I am used to listening to Karl and the team who have a guy sitting right next to the interchange bench who gives you the changes as they are made, including when the subs are activated and what the concerns are when a player comes off injured.

Many others prefer the 720 commentary I know, especially because they don't have any ads. But I just found their calling to be very luck-luster like their calling of the WAFL games on TV. No offence to Kenny Cassellas, Ken Judge or Ryan Turnbull.

I also like the after match interviews coming from the rooms after the games too.
