We are going to struggle massively in the back line. This Is one team we did not want this to happen against !!! And calf injury, back next week my ass

Geeeuuuuuugghhhh. I don't think he's as massively integral as people make out, I still love him floating in the backline, but I see this as a tough and contested game and one where it'll be all about one on one contests. So hopefully he's fresh for our next assignment.

dude, he made the AA squad. that's pretty integral.

Come on, I gave a reason. I meant integral to this game, which was poorly written, but I can see this being suited to Silva. I just reckon this'll be a tough contest and he's much better suited to the floating role. My opinion.

If McPharlin plays i wont be as shattered, Silvagni and Dawson to play lockdowns and Mcpharlin as the everywhere man.. but if he misses as well we are screwed.

What drugs are you on, seriously? You can watch an entire season of us play and think Silvagni will play Johnson's role better because the game is tougher? Too many smoko breaks for you..

that's cool, but i don't think it being more contested has much bearing on his effect. jono's not the softy that he used to be and he's a cool head in a crisis these days.

McPharlin and Dawson shut down with Silvagni floating... he's starting to prove he can do it. We've also gt a surplus of midfielders like Fyfe who can help out and Clarke as resting ruckman in defence.

Him and Ibbotson cut off forward 50 entries and provide drive. No one else in the team, this year, has done that. Johnson is probably in the top three for the club's B&F. Pretttty damn integral.

Against Port a couple of weeks ago, Hilly had so much run from half back he had to rest hist hammy the next week! Plus Duff could get off the chain.

Biggest issue is who is bringing the ball out of defence... mids are going to have to push back harder than usual so they can provide the outlet.. or play Hilly / Suban type exclusively in the back half.

thought you mean woosha for a sec ;)
unfortunately not :(
well with woosha gone, may lose Sumich.. hopefully after the finals

I don't mind us using Hill/Duffield as the floating loose men to intercept and bring the ball out. They can both pinpoint passes as well as anyone. I'm hoping Suban plays mid/HF as he always plays better there. It will take a major reshuffle, but you can trust that Ross will give them all clearly defined roles to play.

I hope we win, we are pretty much being written off on the Geelong board with MJ out. If McPharlin is fit, then it is pretty much like for like.

Reeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllllllllly nervous now. and still 2 days to go.

I far to prefer to be written off and surprise them, then to be rated and have the pressure of expectations. We can still give this one a really good shake.

Actually i forgot about Duff.. he is the only one in the backline i trust with ball in hand. You need at least another so its harder to shut him down.. im backing the recent move of Hill to HBF to give him a hand :thumbsu: Taylor Hunt i would assume would still go to Hill no matter where he plays
