And how do you get the ball to the skilled players?

Port have all the skills in the world. How come they werent first to the ball on Grand Final day?

Tell me want2spoodge, I'd like to know.

Thanks for playing.

woooah, you hit the ultra-defensive button. i was just saying.

Do you think its a game picking up players or not?

I for one want Richmond to win a flag. 22 committed players have to be out there in order to do so. We've got enough McMahon's. Hes nothing special. We need someone who can life 20kgs at least.

I hope we only trade McMahon if we actually are compensated well enough in return; eg a mid-teen pick such as 17 or 18 (Both are the Tigers, no?)

I wouldn't want to trade him for a 2nd round pick, he's worth more to us than that despite an ordinary season.

When all was fine (No issues etc), he was great value playing off a HBF and pushing up into the midfield. Not sure why so many think he's ordinary/crap; he's proved himself to be a good player IMO. Very fast, runs the lines, takes them on, carries the ball. Not to mention, he's got great skills (prior to the issues with the child/partner). He's the perfect running link-up man with an ability to play a few positions. He's young and has played over 100 games.

So as I said; I'd much rather keep him if we're not securing the type of pick I outlined above.

What do you mean "another running hb" - we don't have any quality ones now.

I'm not saying McMahon is definitely the answer to this problem, but he's a massive upgrade on Raines or White and an upgrade on Newman.

You look for upgrades when you have a decent list. At the moment we have massive holes in our list, yet instead of looking to fill them, we go for the type of player we have in abundance.

Only good part about this is Newman and Raines get a go in the midfield. Not like they couldnt before, but now they are able to a bit more.

Still :thumbsd: for me.

I heard that too. Thought WTF!

I thought so.

So that's roughly 330k a year + our pick 19 to to the dogs makes this an unpalatable trade. WTF are they doing .

Aside from ruckmen, we have every 'type' of player in abundance - but not that many of them are good enough.

We have four key defenders (five if you add both Moore and Bowden), four key forwards (ATM pending Schulz trade) plus Pettifer who certainly isn't a crumbing forward, and the list goes on.

Any key position bloke we drafted would merely be a potential upgrade...in a draft where the KPP's are of a very ordinary standard.

In this draft, if you're very confident you can get an actual upgrade in what is an increasingly important part of the ground, with a player that still has a long career ahead of him, for a cheap speculative pick, go ahead and do the deal.

Assuming Deledio spends more time in the forward line and Tambling is preferred on the ball and at HFF, we still totally lack anything resembling a skilled, fast HBF or winger.

Why on earth would we want a bloke like Raines in midfield? Can't kick, poor decision making skills, no speed, no stamina - I'd rather play a Tim Fleming clone...at least he added some genuine physicality in return for his errors.

Newman's had years to become a midfielder and is yet to be offered anything more than a very occasional 3rd rotation role - usually when he's being beaten in defense. Jake King and Jackson have gone past Newman for a midfield role in one year of senior football...just like Tuck and Coughlan and many others have before them.

He's not stuck in the back pocket because of lack of opportunity or because he's a good defender, it's because he's bloody average and has never been considered good enough to play in the centre.

Just got this off a poster on pre

channel 9 news stated he was travelling to SA tomorrow for a medical with Port, someone is obviously way off the mark!
Healy is normally pretty reliable when it comes to his sauces but let's hope in this case his wrong and port trade for him instead
