I reckon jordan russell should have his debut this week he has plenty of pace which we lack at times and is skillful and a good kick

Couldn't be any worse than the garbage that has been served up so far this season.

Actually looks like he'll be a handy type.

I can't believe some of the rockapes on this site actually think that dropping a player to the VFL is a chance to boost his confidence. Fair enough he might get a few more kicks.... but being dropped from any team is a kick in the guts. It says to a player you're not up to this level at the moment, come back when you get a kick.

Hardly a boost of confidence.

we should switch him with wiggins

Meh.. we have enough of his type IMO. What we need, is to give Bentick more game time and possibly fast track Blackwell into the seniors. I've been saying it all year, we lack decent inside players. These two have plenty of class and will soon become the core of our midfield. What do we have to lose by playing them?

Agreed. Bentick shows a bit. These kids have to play, even though they may not be up to it yet, it can't hurt at all. They couldn't possibly do any worse than some of the spuds running around at the moment.

Have to get those guys mentioned up to the 30-40 games mark as soon as possible imo..

Starting now would be our best chance of being a serious finals prospect in a cple a years(hopefully sooner)

Bring back big Carlos to give him more than 15 mins in a whole game( i know he looked lost in his first game)

Setanta will take a while yet I think....

In the international rules series where both Setanta and his brother Aisake played, I thought Aisake showed a hell of a lot more than Setanta.... I know it's International rules and a completely different game, but surely this must count at least for some ball-getting ability.

How is Aisake travelling??? Don't get to see much of the VFL unfortunately.

I think you might be getting your brothers mixed as Aisake didn't play in the international rules series. As far as Aisake is concerned he is as useless as balls on a priest and will never cut the mustard at senior level not even in the VFL. He really isn't even good enough to play in the seconds at the Bullants. As far as Sentata is concerned he will be lucky to play another game this year. He is simply just not ready and there is huge question marks on him whether he will be ever ready.

*hit, fair spray. It kinda annoys me that these Irish blokes get put on the list in front of Aussie blokes, just because they're the flavour of the month. Judging by your comments, there should be several hundred players in front of these blokes in line to be put on an AFL list.

Totally agree it's a disgrace how Asaike was ever rookie listed. Sentanta was worth a punt and still is worth perservering with for a while yet.

Bentick needs a good go, at this stage I haven't seen him do anything of any significance at the big level. Time to give him a good game where he is not on the bench.

Bentick was one of our best against Essendon last year and also against Melbourne. You knew he could play just by watching him. He puts his head over the ball and quickly racks up the disposals. Trust me, he'll be a huge asset for us in the future.

Your right about the brothers Kooley, It was the eldest of the family - Sean Og - who played in the International Rules games. He is still in Ireland and is captain of the Cork Hurling team this year and the are favourites for the All Ireland. He played for Ireland despite not playing football for his county, concentrating on Hurling only. He also has a serious car accident a few years ago which left him with a permanently damaged leg but with his commitment he can still play at the highest level
This shows just what good sportsmen the whole family are and why the younger brothers have a great chanche of making it at AFL, Don't write them off yet
