Even if he's not ready for round 1, i'd rather wait for him to be 100%, or close to it, than risk him, and lose him for an extended period of time. And i cannot imagine the club would want to risk that with the best player in the AFL.

Yeh spot on, Judd or no Judd we will still beat Richmond in round 1 comprehensivley. Get him as close to 100% before throwing him into the side. IMO if Judd played and was underdone/getting torn apart by opposition taggers it would put a huge hole in some of the young blokes confidence. All the hype surrounding Juddy being our 'saviour' would have given the young lads a boost..thinking that we will pick ourselves up from the bottom of the ladder, but seeing him playing at a level below par would bring back memories from years gone past

From what I'm hearing you might be waiting a while.

Exactly. He's 24 ffs. I would rather him miss all of 2008 and still provide us with 5-10 years of quality footy than play him with a niggling injury which could hamper the length of his career. I really hope the rumours that he got the "quick-fix" surgery aren't true. He's still so young. we have to ensure he gets back to his best

I think ppl just want to hear Judd isn't ready (opp supporters)

Judd is a realist, he is the type of guy that isn't going give the world a set date, but reading between the lines he'll be ready for round 1.

He of course wanted the grion to fix quicker than it is, thats because footy is his trade, he is at a new club and doesn't like the media attention. So getting back into it, it would be easier for him.

He is treating his grion with care (hopefully Twigg's is as well) and he'll come on just fine, and the man knows best.

Even though it clarifies what's been REALLY said (not crap from bomberblitz and idiot BF posters) I doubt an article from four months ago is going to shut up the naysayers and put the chicken littles at rest.

It won't shut them up as the best way to deal with fear is to shoot is down with negatives.

But as the article points out back in September is that its a 4-6 month rehab, currently its only been just over 4 months....and the article also states its slow and frustrating.

The interesting thing is, you don't hear anybody saying anything about Ball, why?? because he isn't a big threat like Judd, and at present nobody is running scared of StKilda like they are of Carlton with Judd in the midfield.
